The most beautiful place I have visited in Cyprus, so amazing old village stone built alleys , shop , restaurants and stores ,, especially silver and lace stores … people there are very kind and friendly . The food is so yummy and delicious.. you can buy silver or lace as a memory from there … It’s located in the center of Lefkara village on the mountains of todos , not that far from Larnaka.
One of the most popular squares in the Larnaca district From Lefkara Square one can see the building of the Primary School of Lefkara which was built in 1920 with donations from the church.
Also, from the square one can start their journey to see the impressive houses of Lefkara, which are an example of the folk architecture of Cyprus. The stone-built picturesque alleys are consistent with the stone walls. The alleys are quite narrow and very often end in dead ends with the balconies so close to each other that they seem to touch. A special and remarkable piece in the construction of the listed buildings of the village, is the arch. Whether they are on the façade of the houses or inside them, they are impressively crafted with nice proportions influenced, according to experts, by Frankish and Venetian patterns.
It has public parking
It’s really deserves your time to visit it when you are in Cyprus. This village has a history of making...
Read moreThere are many amazing and stunning mountain villages in Cyprus - so I decided to visit the beautiful village of Lefkara in the mountains and about 50 minutes from Larnaca This review is not so much Lefkara Square but Lefkara in general. Traditionally known for it's lace and silverware (which there is an abundance to purchase) - it now has numerous cafes, bars and restaurants. It's just a maze of picturesque narrow streets and local shops selling their wares. The views from the church (The Church of the Holy Cross) are stunning as you can see from my video. One word of advice and something I did was to search for car parking on Google Maps. I found at least 3 free carparks on the edge of the town and it was only a 3 minute walk to the square. This will prevent you from driving aimlessly through the narrow streets and giving way to those tourist coaches which you will encounter. There are only some roads you can drive down and others are limited to the local residents. So highly recommend Lefkara as a place to visit and guarantee you won't...
Read moreThis was the Lefkara Christmas Village in December. It was a pleasant experience and one of 5 Christmas villages I have been to in Cyprus this year. This was the best so far but still nowhere as good as you might expect, especially if you come from abroad. They need to be selling more handmade Christmas products. The Cypriots have the ability and experience to make handmade, well designed products. The authorities need to find these people and bring them to the...
