Beware, the ZOO is on the top of a very steep hill, you can get here only by one tiny one-lane road and there's only like 20 parking spots. This didn't make me very happy since I drove up only to have to turn back down. I strongly recommend parking in the city center by the main rail station and take the bus up. Other than that, the ZOO is small but beautiful, surrounded by trees so you can visit even on a hot summer day and be fine, there's plenty of small spots with benches where you can relax. I was afraid the animals would be in too small cages, but it all looked pretty good. The animals were chilling and looked healthy. There's also inside accomodation for them and the ability to hide from people.
Highly recommend for an afternoon.
