One of the biggest swimming pools in Copenhagen/Denmark with three pools, children, adults and warm pool. Sadly, it's won't get high point when you compare it with other European countries swimming pools. We have been there many times during the last two years. Floors are always dirty, full of clumps of hair and black and white pieces of dirt, both inside shower room and out beside pools. They have a nudity rule inside shower room that you can't go under water with your swimming wear on yourself! You have to be completely naked, and if they "catch" you with your swimming wear under shower, the stuff shout in front of other people and tell you that take your swimming pants off and it is your problem if you have a different religion! Seriously, I understand the culture, however not wanting to be naked in front of your son or daughter or other people doesn't always mean you defend and have a religion. So this "supposedly" worker comes with big piercing in both ears, and talks loudly in front of other visitors, and tells me to take my swimming pants off while under shower, and with a big grim on his lips. Strangely writing to the CEO got me the same answer and backing up the pierce worker instead of having to understand the visitors. When I wrote that the person working there didn't have right to talk like that to me, she wrote back that he has right to do so with every visitor!
It's about respecting people who visit a public place. Just look at swimming pools in Germany and learn something from them. Even in Germany, there are private rooms to change your clothes if someone wishes to do so in private. I am sure Germans don't have private rooms because of religion, but because they respect that not everyone likes to be nude in public. Here in valby vand kulturhus you don't have that option. Instead, you have two toilets beside each other in the shower room! (they could at least make one of them a private place to change underwear. But there is hope as the stuff call it. You can ask them to give you a black wet dirty skirt to wear under the showers if you insist you don't want the nudity. Yes, it's not a joke, they give you a black short wet skirt to put on, like their wet ones which other people have used before you is cleaner than your dry swimming wear. they stamp you like a crazy person.
If you can accept all these, and the dirt you have to constantly be on look out not to walk on them, and the white patches on the walls in corners of the pools, the pools are nice and big, as I wrote before this is one of the biggest pools in the capital. For us as a family, I give them 2 stars because of the whole package and the way they talk and...
Read moreThis place rather deserves the name a playpool than a swimming pool. The large pool says "only for swimming", however, 50% of this big pool is invaded by children and families for playing, making it impossible to swim there unless you swim in circles or zig-zag around them. When asked, the staff says it is meant both for swimming and playing. I suggested a sign saying "play and swim area" to clarify the rules and avoid conflicts between customers. The smaller shallow (actual) playpool is not so popular with the families and not usable for swimming. There are many children everywhere; today a child was throwing a tantrum lying screaming on the floor in the changing area for about five minutes without parent intervention and audible all the way to the sauna where a gentleman found it appropriate to do tai-chi-like exercises in front of the rest of us. This was a great improvement from last time we were there and another gentleman found it appropriate to walk around butt naked in the shared sauna area frightning the women and children. The staff seem weak and apathetic. But that was even an improvement from the previous week where the whole place was closed down due to somebodys bowel emptying in the pool. I give two stars because the sauna is usually quite hot and there is a...
Read moreIt's a very nice swimming pool. Well equipped and several choices for wellness.
The main pool is not big and just have 2 lanes for professionals.
There rest is full of kids , playing in the water.
There is a very good warm water pool with additional charge which is amazing for therapy but unfortunately you have less chance to find there not crowded.
Sometimes it's full of infants and kids, making lots of noise. And along with their parents, just disturb your excersises with minding.
Sometimes, kids vomit or piss in the water which cause the pool to be closed for 48 hours. If it happens during your visit, you will be out of the pool with no return of money.
So if you are lucky to find there empty, then it's excellent otherwise is terrible.
There are three wonderful Saunas.
Sometime they run Saunagus which is very popular.
I have never understood why people go to such a hot weather for 1.5 hours ! But they are happy with that.
There is no reception in the entrance and everything is done by ticketing machine.
If you need help, call the staff. They are very...
