A small museum of the history of the Barcelona Fire Department [Bomero(a)s]. While there are not a lot of physical items on display, the museum has augmented them with over a dozen multimedia exhibits.

The most unusual item is the fire helmet stretcher, which is used when wet leather helmets would shrink. Really.

Seems to me that Barcelone FD had an extremely poor equipment purchase spec process.

I was fortunate to stumble on this fascinating museum whilst on a short break in Barcelona. It's not free to tourists but is only €2.50 and well worth it! Whilst being small it's packed with information about how the fire brigade service came about and how it evolved over the years. Lots of information and some lovely photos from years gone by. It continues a few vintage vehicles too.
