Riviera Kallio — Attraction in Helsinki sub-region

This is really interesting business model. It's a bar, a movie theater and a bar inside movie theater. It's basically a grand jewel for gentrification generation. In practice it's a movie theater for adults. It's clean, stylish, cozy, hip and rather expensive from beverage point of view. But hey luckily movies are a hair cheaper than that challenging monopoly movie theater chain that can be found from pretty much everywhere in Finland.

This place is quite popular and clearly much needed business for their main customers which are young adults that make more money - a gentrification generation. This place is quite booked all the time which makes it a tad challenging if you're planning to visit here. If you happened to get a seat for you to a decent spot at this movie theater it feels like a jackpot at the moment.

In case you're wondering - you can visit here without actually going to watch those movies. There's a bar here which is nicely decorated to please younger adults so quite hip indeed. But at the movie theater there's a second bar too so yay for that. Movie theater bar is only open when movie is playing of course and only accessible from movie theater hall.

They're opening door 30 minutes before the movie actually starts so that you can buy liquid and solid beverages before there's dark and it's rather hard to see what you're doing. From those solid beverages they take orders so that they can deliver those to your table after the movie has started. You can buy more things during the movie too but then you need to use the doorbell next to the service desk where they take orders. Beverages are quite expensive but especially drinks are good. My personal opinion about the food wasn't anything too special except from the price point of view which is challenging. Snacks and other similar things are rather typical here which shouldn't be a surprise.

The movie theater itself isn't too big but not too small either. It's like small living room with separate spaces and couches. Really enjoyable experience I must admit and I strongly recommended if you ever have a change to visit here.

The bar by the entrance of this venue is typical hip bar which you might have seen recently. It's stylish and modern and rather expensive. Customers are people with their laptops and young adult that dress well and make more money and talk about interesting things about saving the planet and making even more money and so on.

Service here is really friendly as you would expect it to be. I would describe it even laidback which is great in this cold corporate world where we all are living nowadays.

My overall experience was really positive still even though it's killing budget really well if you're ordering those delicious beverages. I recommend this place if you're looking for completely different kind of movie experience but just remember to bring a bit more money if you're planning eat or drink something...

A fantastic small cinema worth visiting. You can experience something different from megascreen cinemas.

I sat on a sofa for two. It was spacy and with enough high backrest to hide guests' head entirely. I wasn't bothered from movements of guests on forward seats.

Good drink and snack choices, and a functional small table for them with a candle. I imagine this would be wonderful to watch a special film for a couple, sharing their memony together with the film, with a bottle of wine...

Red sofas for seating, they are not very comfortable, they are also quite high so a short person might have difficulties seeing the full screen. You can buy snacks and drinks during the movie, but you can also order them in advance (as we did this time). This way you only need to show up...
