Meribel it's a nice town connected to the big ski area of the 3 Vallées. I spent a week here for my ski holiday and these are the thoughts :

Good The town is lovely Connected to a ski area of 600Km pistes Good street maintenance There's everything you need even if it's a small town Free local buses

To improve Pistes are not always properly maintained High prices for food and drinks People are often rude Few people speak English (even in the Tourist office) There are some interesting services (swimming pool, spa) but they have weird opening times, it's hard to get information and actually take advantage of these entertainment options Online information and the Android app need a complete revamp: better support for English information and in general better user experience is needed Limited places with actually working free wifi Public transport connections to Moûtiers are limited, I was forced to get a taxi and...

Love this place! These photos are from the late 80s, very early 90s before the Olympics in 92 while working and living at Hotel Bellevue with Mark Warner Travel. Meriebel and the 3 Valleys was amazing place to do a ski season. Aussies, Kwis, Canadians, we could all work before the EU came in. The largest ski area in the world plus amazing friends from all around the world. A time before mobile phones, helmets and forgiving skis. Where Pink and lime green were the fashion, The Pub Wednesday night then La Foret Night Club and Thursday skiing with all your mates on your only day off. Aust Day in Meribel was always awesome as was the Ski...
