Mixed feelings about the experience...!! The building(s) are magnificent and the collection itself is outstanding without a doubt. It's a vast a quite complete selection of works. The first period (1880's) alone stands as a testimony of T.L's incredible talent. Then the works on cardboard is also truly quintessential and the sketching/drawing execution so pure and strong all at once.
However it is a real shame that the people responsible for curating that exhibition's display overlooked two essential aspects which are: Appropriate Lighting and Use of anti-glare glass
Until these things are corrected your experience will be spoiled as you simply can't stand in front of the work to look at it.
Curators (anywhere) please keep in mind that as visitors we wish to enjoy the art...not look at our own...

Toulouse-Lautrec's works are very fine. But there are more in other parts of the same museum and you would encounter some good, some mediocre works and because one is not familiar with the layout of the museum you feel like being led down a rabbit hole. Depending on your taste, you may find such an experience charming. But for me some of the paintings looked like they belonged in a warehouse, unless the museum itself was doubling as a warehouse, in that case you can overwhelm with quantity but the overall impression is, this is a very chaotic and...
Read moreLargest collection of works by Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. Very good display of works from throughout his life. Very good description of works and overview of his life displayed from room to room. Also, some works by his famous instructors and friends. Descriptions in French, English, and Spanish (Castellano). I saw that in each room, there are large laminated card with the descriptions in other languages (German, Occitan, and others). The old building housing the collection itself would be worth visit. The museum store is much more reasonably priced than most. The staff is very kind. They are obviously proud that Lautrec is their home town boy. Really very...
