Matira Plage, Bora Bora, Franch Polinezia — Attraction in Bora-Bora

We were here on our island private tour and our guide stopped for couple minutes to give us the chance to take some nice pictures. This place has one of the best views over the lagoon representing the southern point on the main motu and was one of the best stops in or tour. This location with a beautiful sea fauna and the variety of large fish attracted to this area including sharks, rays, groupers and large parrotfish has calm water where you can walk for hours with the water just under your arms. Beautiful clean warm white sand to lean on and nice side restaurants where you might snack make it one of the nicest beaches on earth. If your heading south from Vaitape, this is about 10 minutes drive and is a remarkable place to take some nice breathtaking pictures. Great stop weather you are on land...

Having been throughout the island chain this is easily the best water and best spot throughout. There is snorkeling and crystal clear waters and restaurants and hotels etc... It’s spread out a big so it sort of depends on your access etc.

Some noteworthy places: Intercontinental Le Moana for hotel and amazing water and views, Bora Bora beach club for food and views (mosquitos in summer at night), Matira beach restaurant, Hotel Matai for pontoon boat rentals and access to the absolutely stunning coral garden not a half...

Dicono essere la spiaggia più bella dell’isola. Vero, se non si considerano i Motu (altre isolette che circondano l’isola principale) che hanno decisamente spiagge migliori. Regala tramonti molto belli. Non c’è la possibilità di fare snorkeling in quanto è a fondo sabbioso (fa un po’ male si piedi data la presenza di pezzi di corallo e piccole rocce). Il lato migliore è quello a ovest, io ho soggiornato all’hotel Matira (nel quale i bungalow migliori, vicini alla spiaggia, sono l’1 e l’11). Albergo senza grosse pretese ma bello e vicino a servizi fatti bene e professionali, come il diving Eleuthera o l’agente per le escursioni in barca (senza Lagunarium). Ci sono anche diversi posti per mangiare qualcosa a pranzo sulla spiaggia a prezzi “contenuti”. Il ristorante convenzionato con l’hotel è mediamente soddisfacente. Il paese principale è lontano, ma ha prezzi talmente alti che conviene fare un salto al market di Tahiti (prima delle 16:30) per comprare gli stessi souvenirs alla metà del prezzo.
