Lyon has the best food and the best wine of my life and I'm not kidding. But this is just one reason to book this wine - the tasting. You will also have the opportunity to see one of the cutest areas of Lyon - Croix Rousse, I had never heard of it since it is on the hill (which also offers a breathtaking view of Lyon). I would otherwise have stuck to the old town, which is also cute but not the same. The old town is full of tourists and offers the worst food (but too expensive!) Lyon. So, Caroline's tasting was a refreshing break in tourist activities that makes you feel like tourists. Instead, I felt like a local resident invited to another inhabitant. . Another reason was the wine of course - it apparently comes from the whole region, not only from Lyon, so we had to taste it without having to drive everywhere (we did not have time to cover all the vineyards). More importantly, Caroline was an excellent hostess and knew her stuff well. It starts in the fun / random story if you wish, but these are all great things you would never learn from another tour. She's funny too. It's really important to me personally, since it's supposed to be fun, not just for wine. Overall a good deal and was by far our favorite part of our stay in Lyon. I will definitely come back! Good luck to...
Read moreMy fiancée and I had an incredible time with Caroline and really enjoyed our wine tasting. She presented us with a great selection of wines that helped us understand the diversity of grapes, soil / land, and techniques of the larger Burgundy area. She had such a fun wealth of knowledge educating us on not only wines from the Burgundy area but also wine regions throughout France. She even provided us with personalized, handmade books with terminology, information, and places for us to take notes during the tasting.
Caroline also had great recommendations and tips on how to find quality wines like those we had during the tasting and exciting up and coming wines from elsewhere in France back home. Caroline had a great balance of professionalism with an obviously strong knowledge base and a personable, accessible, easy to understand presentation. Ahead of our tasting, Caroline was great at clearly communicating directions to the tasting and Covid protocols and went above and beyond recommending sights and restaurants in Lyon. Caroline was exceedingly generous with her time and knowledge and we would highly recommend joining her for a wine tasting as we did or truly any event she hosts.

Read moreLyon Wine Tastings gifted me an unexpected moment of magic: a wine tasting that brought me back to the heart of why I fell in love with wine in the first place; the reminder that any grape can become anything!
What made this experience truly special wasn’t just the wine itself, but the presence of Margaret-Rose, the sommelier who guided us through the tasting. She was effortlessly knowledgeable; the kind of person who, every time she opened her mouth, dropped a nugget of information that made you see things differently. Her approach was warm and grounded, offering practical advice on how to taste and understand wine without pretension or pressure. She reminded me that wine isn’t about status or expertise; it’s about letting your senses guide you through the story each bottle wants to tell you.
Each glass was full of unexpected turns and delicate layers, like little love letters from the land and winemaker. And Margaret-Rose really brought it home for us.
Thank you for the magical moments you...
