Famosa offers a delightful taste of Italy, with a particular strength in Sicilian cuisine. While the pizzas are good, this restaurant truly shines with its tempting Sicilian specialties.
Sicilian Stars:
The Arancini are a must-try. These crispy fried rice balls come bursting with flavor, and the Cannolo Siciliano is the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet note. The ricotta filling is light and creamy, perfectly complementing the crispy shell.
Beyond Sicily:
Of course, Famosa doesn't stop at Sicily. They offer a variety of classic Italian dishes, including pizzas. While the pizzas are tasty, focusing on the Sicilian primi piatti (first courses) is the way to go for an authentic and truly delicious experience.
Relaxing Atmosphere:
The restaurant boasts a lovely terrace, perfect for enjoying a warm summer evening. And if the weather isn't cooperating, the interior provides a relaxing and inviting ambiance.
Overall:
Famosa is a great choice for anyone seeking delicious Italian food, especially those with a fondness for Sicilian cuisine. The friendly atmosphere and charming decor make it a lovely spot for a casual meal with friends or family.
Pro Tip: If you're looking for a truly Sicilian experience, prioritize the Arancini and Cannoli, and explore the world of Sicilian primi piatti...
Read moreHad a great dinner at Famosa. The antipasti platter was generous but not “buffed out” with things you didn’t want….literally there was just some rocket leaves left behind…it was perfect. Then main course rolled in, bucatini with ragu and (the special)seafood risotto - both were fantastic (especially the latter which my partner ordered and I was insanely jealous of- both were generous serves and thus able to share.) The bucatini was delicious- but the risotto was next level. Every piece of seafood was perfectly cooked and ridiculously generous. And the risotto itself also amazing..just enough bite. Both these dishes tipped us over the edge and we could not even face the dessert menu- but i am sure it would equally well executed. Highly recommend…when in Lyon, go high..head up the hill to Famosa. ( note atmosphere was only lessened as we were outside, by choice, and it looked like inside was the place to be this evening - insider knowledge maybe? But the night was still warmish so we still loved being out even if it was a...

Super friendly staff and a great vibe from apéro to digestif. Highly recommend!

The pizzas here are fantastic 🍕 — I’ve tried several and they’ve never disappointed. The pastas and risottos are just as good 🍝, so really you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. And then come the desserts… if you’ve saved a little room, the cookie is pure indulgence 🍪, while the tiramisu hits that timeless, classic spot 🍮. Those two have become my go-tos.
The staff are genuinely welcoming and friendly — I’d probably slip my number to a waiter or two if I knew which team they were playing for 😆
All jokes aside, Famosa is a gem ✨. Whether you’re stopping in for an apéro 🍷 or staying all the way through to a digestif, it’s a truly delicious spot in the heart of...
