At a glance you would think that this aqueduct has stood since the Roman occupation, however, unlike the Pont du Gard near Nimes it's only about 250 years old. That said it's still an imposing and impressive architectural and engineering feat and we'll worth a visit if you're in Montpellier. Take a stroll along its length, down the tree-lined and arrow straight Boulevard des Arceaux towards the Promenade du Peyrou, under the Arc de Triomphe into then the old city. The route provides ample photo...

The Aqueduc Saint-Clément in Montpellier is an impressive historical structure that offers a glimpse into 18th-century engineering. Stretching gracefully across the city, it's a beautiful place for a scenic walk or photo stop. The nearby Promenade du Peyrou provides a great view of the aqueduct, especially at sunset. It's well-maintained, easily accessible, and adds a unique charm to the city's landscape. Definitely worth a visit for architecture and...

A relatively recent aqueduct, Aqueduc Saint-Clément was built less than three hundred years ago in the middle of the eighteenth century. Its main inspiration, the Pont du Gard, had been built by the Romans some 1700 years before. In 1954, the aqueduct was added to the list of French historical monuments. It's an impressive structure that's worth a visit, regardless of history, inspiration and age.
