We arrived at Reception and asked if we could do a tasting. The Receptionist said we could but we had missed the cellar tour so could only do the tasting for 21€ per person. She directed us to the waiting area and told us someone would be there shortly to give us our three glasses of champagne. We sat and waited and after 15 minutes, asked her where the person was. 10 minutes later, the sommelier arrived… Along with an entire tour group. He did the champagne tasting - all in French. Now, I know we were in France, but most places offer tastings in different languages. Thankfully the host dealt with the situation tactfully and managed them very well whilst not embarrassing us at all.
Finally I would thoroughly recommend this house as the...
Read moreStumbled upon this champagne maker on our way to visit Basilique Saint-Remi. When we arrived, the office was locked and had a sign indicating that it would re-open about 45 minutes later. As we were turning to leave, the tour guide (Emmanuel) saw us from an adjacent room and indicated that we could hop on the tour he was about to give. Facility was smaller than nearby competitors but has a lot of history. Our guide was excellent and made the experience entirely worth it. I can also say that the champagne was better than some of the other more well-known brands that we tried later that day. This is definitely worth a stop for anyone visiting the area for any reason, especially if you are into champagne. We will definitely be back; thank...
