Vake Park unfolds at the foot of the Trialeti Range, offering a verdant escape within Tbilisi's central district. Lush greenery carpets the 200-hectare expanse, a welcome respite from the city's bustle. Wide, red-sand paths meander through the park, inviting exploration. A grand staircase stretches from the park's base, ascending towards the north and Chavchavadze Avenue. This central axis is extended by a cascade of fountains, their cool spray a refreshing counterpoint to the Georgian sun. The water culminates in a central pool, a focal point amidst the verdant landscape. As you climb, the park reveals its layers. Children's laughter spills from a dedicated play area, while open-air cafes and restaurants beckon with promises of rest and refreshment. For the culturally curious, an open-air cinema offers a unique experience. Reaching the summit, a World War II Memorial stands as a poignant reminder of the past. From this vantage point, panoramic views unfold across Tbilisi, a tapestry of red roofs and historic landmarks. Vake Park isn't just a scenic escape; it's a microcosm of Tbilisi life. Families picnic on the grass, joggers weave through the paths, and locals gather to socialize. The gentle hum of conversation and laughter fills the air, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Whether seeking a peaceful retreat, a dose of exercise, or a glimpse into Tbilisi's soul, Vake Park offers a haven for all.
If you're looking for a serene escape from the bustling city, Vake Park is the place to go. This park is located in the Vake district of Tbilisi and it is a popular destination for both tourists and locals alike. The park offers a variety of activities, such as hiking trails, cycling paths, and picnic areas, making it an ideal spot for families and nature lovers. Vake Park is also home to several attractions, including a lake with paddle boats, a playground for children, and a botanical garden. The botanical garden features a vast collection of native and exotic plants, making it a perfect spot for those who appreciate natural beauty. One of the most spectacular features of Vake Park is the panoramic view of the city. From the top of the hill, you can see the entire city of Tbilisi and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The park is particularly beautiful during the fall season, when the trees change colors and the park is painted in vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow.
"Vake Park is a lovely, spacious green space perfect for relaxation or cardio activities. The park is well-maintained, clean, and features bicycle and walking trails. It's also an excellent spot for families, with a large, fenced playground for kids. From the park, you can walk up to the gondola station and purchase a ticket to visit Turtle Lake. The lake itself is ordinary, surrounded by cafes and restaurants. For a mere 1 Lari per person, you can take the gondola to the lake and enjoy the views. However, be prepared for a cramped ride, as the gondola only departs when a certain number of people have gathered. Once you arrive, you can hike further up to the Turtle Lake viewpoint. Be aware that there's a camera system in place that announces loud warnings for unknown violations, but strangely, there are no clear rules or signs indicating what constitutes a violation. I personally experienced this when taking photos and walking around, triggering the camera's flash and sound without understanding why. Unfortunately, the bathroom facilities near the kids' playground are poorly maintained and lack toilets. Despite some drawbacks, Vake Park remains a nice spot to unwind and enjoy the outdoors."
The Vake park is designed in a unique manner where all the walking lanes once you get to the center circle of the park are like all shooting out in different directions. The park also has stuff such as a library for studying, monuments/sculptures, amusement park activites, a ton of benches, tennis areas, public outdoor gyms, and way more stuff. The park is also accessible since just outside of the gates are a few bus stations. There’s also stairs heading up to the Victory Statue just the stairs aren’t in the best shape currently. The park is also near the zipline and cable cars to get up to Turtle Lake which is great and just overall a great place to walk pets, walk with friends, or go out with children.
Vake Park is very nice place for family to rest. It has entrence for people with disabilities, there is also amusement park, childrens playground, library, tennis courts, and mini basketball stadium. There are a few cafes too. Here you will enjoy beauty of nature and fresh air. Here are also roads for bicycles. There is also possible to go hiking because Vake Park has huge territory. If you go up in the mountains you will find Ethnographic museum and Turtle lake, also another grate place to enjoy nature, fresh air and water. Vake Park has also it's ropeway which will bring you from Chavchavadze avenue to Turtle lake.
An urban park in the middle of Vake district which is well connected by public transport. There are paved roads and walking trails in the park. It is popular with locals who wants to take children out for play. There are rides for children in the middle of the park along with enough benches for rest. In addition, there is a lawn tennis and basketball ground. A cable car ride is possible to reach the top of the hill which offers a good view of the city. Go there if you are in the vicinity but a separate trip by tourists is not recommended unless one has enough time in hand.
