MAN Museum Augsburg — Attraction in Augsburg

If you are interrested not only in car, sou will like this museum. Because MAN is not only about the cars. So in this museum you can see engines from a late history, from first diesel. To very new one. You can see here few truck from history and a lot of type of diesel engines. In second floor you will find a lot of pictures from the past of the company. And a lot of models of different type of engines. When you want visit this museum, you have to register for visit. Entry is free and parking lot is near the museum. And nice staf is really helpful and they descript for you basic history of the company and they first diesel engine. I can really recomend this museum if you like this...

It is a small representation of the history of the MAN company. It is more focused on the first years of the company specialy in the development of the old printing machines and the first diesel engines. But also there are examples of MAN vehicles and a photographic timeline representation from the beginnings until almost nowadays. The museum is in a very good condition and the entrance is free. Das Betriebsinterne MAN Museum ist kein öffentliches Museum im üblichen Sinn sondern nur zu bestimmten Terminen nach Voranmeldung zugänglich . Hat man diese Formalitäten aber erledigt erwartet einen ein Highlight der Deutschen Industriegeschichte . MAN war und ist der Geburtsort des Dieselmotors der von Rudolf Diesel erfunden wurde und im Februar 1892 zum Patent angemeldet wurde . Ein Prototyp aus dieser Zeit ist vor Ort zu besichtigen und wurde mir sogar vorgeführt . Es gab noch viele andere sehr sehenswerte Objekte aus der langen Geschichte von MAN zu sehen von Schiffsdieseln bis zu Komponenten der Weltraumrakete Ariane und selbstverständlich durften auch einige Fahrzeuge nicht fehlen . Ein junger Mann des Museums stand mir mit Rat und Tat zur Seite und erzählte mir einige sehr interessante Dinge über die Geschichte von MAN . Leider findet man nicht in jedem Museum so kompetentes Personal wie ich es hier erleben durfte aber bei MAN in Augsburg vergingen die 2 Stunden meines Besuchs wie im Fluge . ...
