Dom Kilisesi basın bürosundan edindiğimiz bilgiye göre; Osmanlılarla yapılan bir savaşta ele geçirilen Osmanlı sancağı, 21 Ekim 1689’da Prens Louis von Baden tarafından kiliseye asılmak üzere «Dom Dekanı»na verilmiş. Bir yüzünde;

“Lâ ilâhe illâllah Muhammedü’r-Rasûlullah” diğer yüzünde ise;

just another church?

Maybe we’ve just seen one church too many on our travels or are spoiled by living in a city with a world-famous cathedral, but we were disappointed by the plain interior and the stained glass, which we had expected would be far more impressive.

We had a hard time finding an entrance – the church seemed to have been put together in an architecturally haphazard way and as we later read was indeed changed again and again. We wandered around a bit, was able to overhear some interesting details about the destruction of the place during World War II, but after a look at the cloister, left to continue our visit in Augsburg.

Maybe we should’ve tried to join a tour of the cathedral or maybe we should’ve just skipped both the church and this overrated mid-size Bavarian...
