SAVVY Contemporary: The Laboratory of Form-Ideas — Attraction in Berlin

I recently attended the SOCIETY: OR INFINITE REHEARSALS exhibition at SAVVY Contemporary, and I was truly impressed, particularly with the curator, Renan Laru-an. His approach to the guided tour was exceptional—not only informative but genuinely engaging and immersive. Renan possesses incredible skill in guiding viewers beyond the surface of each artwork, revealing an intricate network of hidden meanings, histories, and rhythms that pulse through time and spaces affected by colonial legacies and ongoing dynamics.

During the tour, Renan skillfully unfolded the complex themes and delicate nuances embedded in each piece, drawing out the layers of dance—sometimes subtle, sometimes striking. His insights allowed us to delve deeper into how each work, be it photography, sound, sculpture, or textile, unveils the essence of movement and its significance in our lives and societies. It was a true pleasure to experience this art under his attentive guidance, seeing how he encouraged us to engage not only with the exhibition space but also with the concept of movement and dance as acts of self-discovery and connection.

Really impressive space with a very special focus on art practice and theory in an important neighborhood in Berlin. The events, exhibitions and talks are exceptional and very very diverse. it's very special in a place like Berlin as its programming puts a focus on diversity and post colonial discourse serving as an important, active and inspirational alternative to the many cultural centres across Berlin and Europe.
