Overall, Spiel in Essen was a fantastic experience, held in an impressive venue that truly captured the energy and excitement of the event. The organization was top-notch, with a great atmosphere, a diverse selection of games, and exhibitors from around the world. It was an absolute treat for any board game enthusiast!

However, a few areas could use improvement. The bathrooms were not well-maintained, and with the size of the crowd, there simply weren’t enough facilities to meet the demand. This led to longer waits and less-than-ideal conditions.

Great venue and amazing variety at the techno classica short walk to shops and restaurants we always have a great time.the u11 subway takes you right outside . Best thing you can do before going is buy a combi ticket for your desired event which includes most public transport systems so you can vary your travel plans without worrying if you have the right ticket.just show it , if asked and away you go no queueing for ticket machines and remembering to stamp them at the platform.many people do not know this is available a few weeks before the event and at the airport kiosk.lastly there is a bus which runs directly to messe Essen out side the airport which is a several euros each way, taxis are the most expensive way to travel but at around 50+ euros one way lone travellers have to dig deep,five sharing a minibus...
