Mosque in The Palace Garden — Attraction in Schwetzingen

One of the most fascinating buildings is the Schwetzingen palace garden!

It truly was a surprise for me to visit this stunning mosque, it was so good that I kept mumbling the word "stunning" for myself the entire time I was there! I did enjoy the beauty of symmetry everywhere I looked, on top of that the decorations and design were so detailed and colorful. It's hard to believe it was never intended to be a functional house of worship, but rather a building to express tolerance towards all religions and cultures in the world.

The inner courtyard is surrounded by covered walking passages with paintings on the ceilings and pots of flowers on the sides. The mosque itself is also accessible, even though it is not large or spacious inside, it does compensate with the oriental beauty and detailed artwork! Indeed, it is a very picturesque complex where I ended up strolling for more than an hour!

The mosque can be accessed only via one entrance located in the center of the park, unfortunately no access possible from the side of the pond and the Temple of Mercury. No toilets available either.

Der Eintritt in die Moschee ist kostenlos und es gibt auch eine informative Broschüre über die Geschichte und Architektur des Gebäudes. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass die Moschee nur zu bestimmten Zeiten für Besucher geöffnet ist, aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, darauf zu achten.
