Das Badhaus — Attraction in Schwetzingen

Very small but equally beautiful bathhouse I stumbled upon visiting the large complex of gardens! For such a small place there is a lot to see - beautiful marble floors, rich decorations, impressive sculptures and very nicely furnished lounges. At the entrance visitors must borrow slippers to avoid damaging the floor.

Interesting to notice is the position of the houses entrance doors - the one on the south facing the water basin with a very dramatic hunting statue and The Apollo temple right behind, on the north the tranquil bird fountain to where the path is protected by latticework and hedges. Unser Kurfürst Carl Theodor wusste schon im 18. Jahrhundert was ein Whirlpool ist. Er war seiner Zeit voraus und wusste das Leben zu genießen. Er hat das Badhaus sehr schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der riesige Whirlpool oder die riesige Badewanne ist mit Schlangen verziert. Ein Schlafzimmer mit Klostuhl und Waschtisch sowie ein Arbeitszimmer runden das Ganze ab. Der Eingangsbereich ist mit verschiedenen Skulpturen geschmückt und besitzt neben dem schönen Boden noch ein großes Deckengemälde. Eintritt nur mit Filzpantoffeln, die man sich vor dem Eingang über die Schuhe...

Sehr schöne und beeindruckende Badanlage. Hier insbesondere das imposante Badezimmer. Oftmals wird dezent mit schöner Barockmusik untermalt. Für Besucher gibt es obligatorisch Filzpantoffeln zur Schonung des kostbaren Bodens. Einen Besuch können wir sehr empfehlen. Das Badhaus ist allerdings nicht ganzjährig geöffnet.
