Before you decide to go on this ride (or preferably not go), make sure you know that :
You need to buy an extra ticket (€7) for this; It’s essentially a ride on the CanCan-coaster, but with VR-glasses. Capacity is therefore linked to waiting times for CanCan as well as Coastiality; In addition to the waiting times issue, the waiting time is by definition misleading. Even the 15-meter indoor waiting line for this ride can take about an hour. Totally unexpected, and very annoying (the repetitive music doesn’t help); The VR itself is a nice addition, and truly a potentially unique experience. Unfortunately this particular VR is sub-par today, in both image quality and poor sync between the physical ride and the video.
Altogether there are quite some points that should be improved before this ride is worth the extra fee, but I must say the VR actually made it better than the rather dull CanCan-coaster itself. But seriously, the quality of the VR performance and the insane waiting times need to be addressed before I’d recommend this ride anyone; never mind paying extra for it. And I am obviously not the only one who feels that way, so do something about...
Read moreAn absolute scam! 7€ extra for this shit? When we bought the ticket, the lady told us our session starts at 16h. We arrived on time, got in, then had to wait in a 5-meter long hall for a solid 20 minutes. When we complained about the wait, the employee explained differently, that ticket has designated time frame (for us it was from 4pm to 5pm), and once arrived, you'll have to wait for your turn like any other attractions. The waiting is way worse than the other attractions, we were stuck in the same tiny hall the whole time, with the same music playing over and over again for more than 10 times. In total, it was more than 30 minutes of waiting. You would think that the experience would be worth the wait? It was RIDICULOUS!!! Once putting the headset on, another waiting time because the train did not arrive. Then the ride was awful! You can bearly hear the sound, the video kept lagging. What you see do not match with what you feel. I prefered the ride with my eyes closed. I wanted to vomit after the ride. If I knew about this, I would not take this ride even if it was free. DESASTER! Did they not perform any test before...
Read moreI’ve had plenty of VR experiences, but Eurosat Coastiality – The Phantom of the Opera was by far the worst. The extra €7 is absolutely not worth it.
You get quick instructions and walk into the ride with the VR headset, but everything that follows is a disaster. The experience has nothing to do with the actual Phantom of the Opera. Instead, you just circle endlessly around the opera house, which is confusing and extremely unpleasant.
The headset lags constantly: the ride moves, but in VR nothing syncs properly. This creates severe motion sickness. I had to keep my eyes closed to avoid throwing up, and my partner had to remove the headset entirely because he was about to be sick. Staff said this “rarely” happens, but judging by other reviews, it’s actually very common.
We both felt so nauseous it lasted for two days. I had to lie down on a bench in the park for two hours before I could even walk again, and the car ride home was still miserable.
Conclusion: Never again. Save the €7 and ride the normal coaster instead – it’s fun, and you...
