(See update below) It seems like their issue with slowness hasn’t been solved even with all the other reviews from a year ago from other customers. I was waiting around 5pm for 28 minutes to get my order even though it was pretty empty (see picture), there was just 1 order in front of me. There’s only one person doing all the work- getting orders, answering calls, dealing with customers, making drinks. The drinks are expensive, so I would assume they can afford to hire more, or somehow be more creative, use robots if you really want to save money. Perhaps add a free arcade machine, a TV, free WiFi so people aren’t roasting you guys online. It would have been 1 star, but it’s 2 stars only because of this overqualified Indian international student trying to manage everything at this Korean cafe the best he can. The owner did pass by (with the manager?) but neither seemed to care, just like other reviews in the past have said. He was just chatting the entire time with the other guy Update: I just got a notification from Google that this is a very helpful comment since a lot of people are viewing & liking it, and I also noticed that the owner responded too claiming that I "harassed the store" which is a blatant lie & that I left a "SCREAMING REVIEW" which seems to be his definition of well-researched based on the past reviews. I clearly mentioned there was 1 order ahead so I used the "angle photo" to protect their privacy. Dear Owner: Instead of trying to defend yourself, perhaps use it as a lesson. If your excuse is that there were 500 online orders ahead of me, perhaps make that transparent to people that come inside the store, or help the 1 employee instead? Read moreThe gongcha at this location is incredibly disappointing and upsetting. The management treats their staff poorly, unfairly, and with no respect. They like to blame their staff for many problems. Not only are the drinks not made to satisfaction, but they also like to overcharge customers without them knowing. Don't support this location unless the owners change their attitude towards their employees and guests :)
RESPONSE: By the looks of other reviews being quite similar to mine, I think your store's reputation is already horrible. I wonder why my review has so many likes. It might even be from your own employees who agree with my statement. You can report or seek whatever intervention you want. Maybe instead of being offended by my review and trying to threaten me, you guys should apologize and change your behavior towards your staff rather than asking someone to say something nice about their "work experience". Read moreI recently had the misfortune of visiting Gongcha, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Where do I even start?
First of all, the service was abysmal. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. It took forever for anyone to even acknowledge my presence, let alone take my order. When they finally did, they acted as if I was inconveniencing them.
The bubble tea itself was nothing short of disgusting. The tapioca pearls were hard and undercooked, making them almost inedible. The tea was watery and flavorless, as if they had reused the same tea bags over and over again. I ordered a classic milk tea, and it tasted like diluted milk with a hint of something vaguely resembling tea. Absolutely revolting.
The prices were exorbitant for what they were offering. I felt completely ripped off. I could have gotten better bubble tea from a street vendor at a fraction of the price.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Save your money and your taste buds, and go somewhere else. This place is a total disaster from start to finish.
