I cannot recommend this tour enough – it's an absolute must-do if you're visiting the island! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable and unique experience that became the highlight of our entire trip.
Operated by a local family, their warmth, hospitality, and humor made the tour incredibly enjoyable. Antonis, in particular, is a real character and had us laughing throughout the entire journey. His jokes and witty remarks added a special touch to the already fantastic tour.
During the tour, you'll be treated to the most beautiful views of the island. The family will share their knowledge and provide explanations about the points of interest you encounter along the way. It's a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural insights.
But the real excitement starts when you witness traditional fishing using nets. The family's fishing skills are truly impressive, and you'll be amazed at how many fish they can catch. It's like watching a magic show, but with fish!
And here's the best part – they cook the freshly caught fish right on the boat! The mouthwatering aroma fills the air, and you can't wait to taste the delicious, abundant meal that they prepare before your eyes. It's a culinary experience like no other.
If you've never fished before, no worries! The family will be more than happy to teach you the ropes. They are patient, and their friendly nature creates a comfortable environment for beginners.
What sets this tour apart is the authentic connection you'll feel with the local family. It's not just a tour; it's an opportunity to become part of their world, even if just for a little while. They share their traditions, stories, and laughter, making you feel like you're part of their extended family.
So, if you want to make incredible memories, laugh till your sides hurt, enjoy breathtaking views, and indulge in the freshest and most delicious fish you'll ever have, don't miss out on this tour with Captain Kyriakos and the wonderful local family. It's an experience that will stay with you long after your...
Read moreI went on the sunset tour in early October and it was the highlight of my stay in Santorini and such a perfect way to spend my last evening there! Flora is such a beautiful little fishing boat and the captain, his wife, his son, and his nephew are all such lovely warm people.
We got to watch the captain pull in 900m of fishing nets, gorgeous views of the caldera, super cool rock formations, enjoyed swimming in the hot springs, and came up just in time for a lovely home cooked meal with super fresh ingredients made by the captain’s wife. Tzatziki, fava, salad, tomatoes, and 9(!) fresh fish for just the two of us - suffice to say we didn’t finish, but we tried our darnest! We were also offered Santorini wine which I hear is fantastic - I didn’t have any because I’m alcohol intolerent (sorry, cap - hope no offense was taken!)
The sunset was absolutely beautiful and the “surprise” by the captain and his son was such an incredible way to end - they’re both so talented! The fish soup the captain made was also delicious and went perfectly with enjoying the surprise - I had seconds even though I was already full from the feast earlier.
They were super kind and offered to drive us back to our hotel even though it was not at all along the way, and I also just really enjoyed chatting and learning more about their lives on the island.
Such a lovely, genuine family-run tour. Would absolutely take the tour again next time I’m in Santorini. Tbh thinking of dropping by Santorini again just...
Read moreFlora Fishing Tour in Vlychada was the true highlight of our Santorini family holiday. Captain Kyriokos is not only a skilled fisherman but also a truly lovely host and a great character, he made the entire day feel warm and welcoming. The tour begins with Captain Kyriokos taking you out from Vlychada on his traditional boat. We got hands on with real fishing, dropping nets and learning about techniques, which was fascinating for all ages. Afterward, the tour continues with a relaxed sightseeing cruise around Santorini’s most famous sights, offering a unique perspective away from the crowds. Dinner was a true treat: Captain Kyriokos’ wife prepares an authentic meal using local produce and the day’s fresh catch. There was even a fun surprise from Anton, Captain Kyriokos’ son, to entertain everyone at dinner, adding to the festive atmosphere. The excitement of finally seeing what the sea gave us for the day made for a memorable finale. This experience stands out against the typical tourist boat or catamaran trips in Santorini. It’s authentic, engaging, and genuinely special. Even our two teenage kids, who are typically hard to impress, thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We truly can’t recommend Flora Fishing Tour and Captain...
