Meroula — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

My husband and I went to Santorini for eight days. Every day we ate 2 times in different restaurants, until we came here. Along our trip we visited some really nice restaurants, but honestly nothing compared to this restaurant. The food... Omg, we both love trying new places, and travel a lot, and honestly this turned to one of our favourite restaurants IN THE WORLD! we came back 3 times!! No kidding, the food is just from another planet, so we'll cooked!! Even the not so noble food where you would think it's just a side dish was truly amazing, just everything. I have no words. Besides to that you get to know all their team, all the cooks come to greet you and there was an argentinian guy who helped us with the understanding (we are Spanish). You feel like at your grandma's house. Incredible experience, please please just go visit this place. I would grab a flight just to go back there again. We dined in the late afternoon, so the place was empty and the owner could dedicate their full attention to us. You can dine outdoor on the pool side with a nice garden view. Indoor, there is a huge reception room for hundreds of guests.

We had a Greek salad, followed by a mix of grilled fish for two. The fish is exceptionally fresh and grilled on the spot so it is really tasty and healthy. I never had such light and tasty fried potatoes in my life. The portions are very big, but we took our time enjoying the food and wine, while talking occasionally with the owner. The baklava and Greek coffee are worth trying.

I recommend this place if you want to enjoy a delicious and local meal in a quiet place, served by one of the most welcoming and kind owner...

I’m Italian from Sicily, therefore after I tried few restaurants in Santorini I decided to follow internet and with other 3 friends we decide to try meroula restaurant.. I immediately asked to the waiter ( which I after discovered that is the nephew of the owner) what he will advise as fresh fish and local traditional food... well best choice ever he advise 3 local starters and and one portion of mullet (triglia) and fright seafood (piccoli calamari ) plus we order some sward fish and one spaghetti with gamberi... the results was simply amazing and tasty! Price were good (25€ ) per person,, coffe and water included! I simply recommend to everyone this restaurant which is the best...
