The Botanical Park of Amorgos is truly a hidden gem on the island, a place where nature, flavors, and warm hospitality come together in a unique way. From the moment you arrive, you are welcomed by a vibrant burst of colors and aromas — herbs, flowers, and plants from the island and beyond. It’s not just a park, it’s an experience that combines natural beauty, education, and gastronomy in a setting that feels both authentic and inspiring.
The food here is a highlight in itself. Every dish feels fresh and carefully prepared, showcasing local ingredients and traditional recipes with a modern twist. The flavors are honest, vibrant, and satisfying — you can tell they come straight from the garden to your plate. The herbal teas are aromatic and refreshing, and the homemade desserts are worth saving room for. It’s the kind of food that not only fills you but leaves you with a sense of well-being.
Service at the park is outstanding. The staff are not only friendly and polite but also genuinely passionate about what they do. They are eager to share the story behind the park, explain the plants and herbs you encounter, and make recommendations from the menu. You never feel rushed; instead, you feel cared for in a warm, personal way.
The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by the sounds of birds and the scent of herbs in the air. It’s the perfect spot to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the simple joys of nature. There are comfortable areas to sit and enjoy your meal or drink, and the view of the surrounding landscape is simply beautiful. The only thing I could suggest for improvement would be adding a few more shaded areas, especially for the hotter summer days — but even without that, the setting is magical.
Visiting the Botanical Park is also an educational journey. You can learn about the different plants, their uses in cooking, and their health benefits. The staff’s knowledge makes the experience even richer, and the small gift shop offers wonderful herbal products and souvenirs to take a piece of Amorgos home with you.
Overall, the Botanical Park of Amorgos is a must-visit for anyone coming to the island. Whether you are a nature lover, a foodie, or just someone looking for a peaceful escape, this place will leave you with beautiful memories and a desire to return. Highly...
Read moreBotanical Park is something of a misnomer. This is a herb garden doubling as an organic café, bar, and performance venue, as well as occasional cinema. They cultivate the herbs and endangered flowers for which the island is noted in close-to-natural conditions, a notable step towards conservation of Greece’s natural heritage that other places should imitate. Their herbs are used in the hot and cold infusions for sale as well as in the food, and cosmetic preparations and soaps as well as herbs are sold in the adjoining shop.
It t’s a delightful place to spend your time, whether in the shade of the trees during the day, or at night, when the frequent, varied, and beautifully curated events - mostly live music - take place.
The staff are friendly and thoughtful, the food and drink both rooted in local traditions and ranging into the international and modern with seamless good taste.
A beacon of hope for the future of rural Greece that young people are creating oases like this in our...
Read moreI visited the Botanical park this week for the second time, and I can say it is a great space for both events and just to have a coffee break. The outside space is great, with beautiful lighting and the chilly summer wind making a great atmosphere during the hot nights of summer. The prices are kind of pricey, with a beer costing 6€, but I understand it and can’t complain. The staff is very friendly and can help you out with the small but great beer selection. I visited the park this year for the Usurum concert, I have to say I had a great time. I would definitely recommend visiting the space for both a coffee or lunch, or some of the great concerts they hold during the...
