We’ve been going to Amorgos for twenty five years but over the last couple of years, we felt that the food scene has notched up a gear. There are three restaurants in Katapola that we frequented during our most recent stay but we felt that Yakamos stood out. The ingredients, the aspirations of the chef who demonstrated a clear passion for her work together with a team who pull out all the stops to ensure a great all round experience. I don’t know how you can get capers to taste like nothing, but they managed. The Greek salad had old tomatoes, a very small portion of local cheese and old soggy croutons that had broken down in the dressing. The kofta plate had okay kofta but the potatoes hadn’t been cooked any time recently or completely. Traditional recipes with a twist, everything delicious and reasonable price for the experience! Definitely worth it! We would do it again, but this was our last meal before leaving the island.
