Practical Information for Visitors to Votsalakia Beach • Date of Visit: August 2025
• Wind: A good choice if winds on Karpathos exceed 30 km/h.
• Parking: There is a free parking area (Amoopi parking) just above the beach. Even though the sign says private, it is government property.
• Parasols & Sunbeds: Rentals cost €20 per set. The parasols belonging to Calypso Restaurant are largely reserved by Italian tourists, which was quite frustrating. After 10:30, don’t expect to find one—all are taken, with many permanently reserved.

The Greek law states that beaches are public property, so if you find yourself in this situation insist that the law permits you to stay on the beach...
