Fanos Beach — Attraction in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

I was dreaming of Koufonissi for months and when I finally got there, I wasn't disappointed. Stunning island with one beach better than the other. Which brings me to Fanos beach. For some reason it was my favourite one. Stunning clear water, sand, good cafe nearby, perfect mix of beach goers and 10 mins walk from where I was staying. It was perfect in spite of few accidents with drenched towel & sun lounger. Do not leave it unattended unless you know ferry times. When they turn around in the port, they send huge waves your way and you can get caught. So watch out. You can go there either by boat from the port or by walking 30 minutes / 2.0 km from the port. The beach is located before Pori and the boat stop is common for this beach and Italida beach. This is the quietest beach you can go to by boat. it owes its name to the bar of the hotel that offers sunbeds (fortunately not on the beach, but behind the beach), coffee and food. Beautiful golden beach and crystal clear water. There are a few small trees if you are lucky enough and like a bit of shade. There is a cafeteria right above the beach if you need a drink and also you can sit there for shade or on one the deck chairs.
