Melissa Rooms — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We ended up staying 7 days at Melissas Rooms. We had initially booked for 5 nights however the ferries were cancelled and Katerina, the owner was kind enough to let us have a different room for the extra 2 nights. Melissa Rooms are new and very clean, serviced every day with new towels and cleaned. We initially had a triple room for the 2 of us. It was very roomy, had it's own balcony, we then had a double room upstairs that was just as nice and very roomy for 2 people. Katrina, the owner was fantastic, not only providing a pickup and drop off service but just a very warm and generous person. We did stay a night elsewhere when the ferry were cancelled, the price was the same as the double room at Melissa's but no where near as roomy, modern or nice, suffice to say we moved back to Melissa's rooms for the next 2 nights. Although Melissas Rooms look out of town on goggle maps, ( note that on Google maps the location is actually isted as Melissa's Studios) , it was an easy 8 minutes to the town and 15 minutes in the opposite directtion to the beaches.They also have a resturant in the Chora, called Melissas, the baby goat was delicious. Can't speak highly enough of this...

Tengo sentimiento encontrados acerca de este hostel. Por una parte las habitaciones son grandes, limpias y las vistas bonitas. Por otra, el servicio y su ubicación dejan mucho que desear. - - Para empezar llegamos a las 2 am y el dueño nos vino a buscar, no se digno a salir ni del coche con una seña con nuestro nombre, estaba todo oscuro y tuvimos que ir preguntando a todas las personas del puerto hasta que alguien nos dijo que el dueño estaba en tal coche, esto ya de entrada me parece vergonzoso. El coche estaba sucio y olía mal. Segundo, el hotel esta muy lejos de todo, son 15/20 minutos andando por un camino oscuro y prácticamente sin luz, da bastante miedo, y además el hotel no está señalizado en la senda principal con lo cual es fácil no encontrarlo si no llevas google maps. Tercero y último, En nuestro último día nos cancelaron el ferry de regreso a Santorini, Le pedimos ayuda al dueño y nos llevó a la oficina de turismo del centro, le pedimos por favor que no se marchara para informarle de lo que nos iban a decir en la oficina de turismo, nos dijo que nos esperaba en su restaurante. Cuando fuimos al restaurante (10 min mas tarde) el señor había desaparecido y Las empleadas del restaurante no nos quisieron ayudar mucho a contactar con él, tuvimos que insistir muchísimo para que le llamaran (además no tenían ni idea de hablar inglés). El nunca vino, tuvimos que hacer autostop y suplicar para que nos llevaran al hotel a coger nuestras maletas porque nuestro transporte alternativo salía en menos de media hora. No volvería a quedarme jamás. para terminar, le preguntamos al dueño si nos podia llevar a pori beach en el primer día y no nos quiso llevar cuando todos los hoteles de la zona ofrecen traslado a sus clientes. teniendo en cuenta que no hay otra forma de llegar que no sea andando y el camino es bastante dificultoso me parece incomprensible. estábamos en temporada baja y no había casi turistas en la isla, nos podia haber llevado...

We stayed for two nights and everything was fine. |Unfortunately their transportation service is not what they offered and what we agreed on.|Prior to our departure, they said they were gonna take us to the port at 9am. On the check out date no one showed up, we were calling two different phone numbers and they wouldn't answer the phone. We had to run with the luggage to the port and then to the tickets office. We barely made it. It's a big shame that you cannot trust their word. When they finally picked up the phone more than 45 minutes later, the only response I got was "sorry is not my fault". They really didn't care about...
