Tsambika Beach is one of the most stunning and popular beaches on the island of Rhodes, located on the eastern coast, about 26 kilometers south of Rhodes Town. The beach is known for its long stretch of golden sand, clear turquoise waters, and the natural beauty that surrounds it. Unlike some other beaches on the island, Tsambika remains relatively undeveloped, offering a more tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. The beach is named after the nearby Tsambika Monastery, which sits on top of a hill overlooking the area. The monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is a popular pilgrimage site. Visitors often combine a trip to the beach with a visit to the monastery, enjoying both the spiritual and natural beauty of the area. Tsambika Beach is well-organized, with sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sports available for rent. There are also several beach bars and tavernas where visitors can enjoy refreshments and traditional Greek cuisine. The beach is family-friendly, with shallow waters that are safe for children, making it an ideal spot for a day of relaxation. A set of sunbeds typically costs around 20 euros. The combination of its pristine natural environment, calm waters, and the backdrop of the Tsambika Monastery makes Tsambika Beach a must-visit destination for anyone...
Read moreTsambika Beach is one of the largest sandy beaches on the eastern side of Rhodes, and definitely one of the more popular ones. Despite the crowds, there are still quieter areas where you can find some space to yourself.
The beach has several beach bars and plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, usually priced around €30. The water is shallow, warm, and calm, with an easy entry — making it ideal for kids and families.
One downside is that music from the beach bars can be heard across the beach, which may not suit those looking for complete peace and quiet. I’d also recommend arriving earlier in the morning to get a good spot, especially during the high season.
If you enjoy wide sandy beaches, it’s worth a visit. And even if you don’t stay long, the drive from Rhodes Town to Tsambika Beach is beautiful — you pass through scenic landscapes and small villages, which gives you a nice feel...
Read moreI am giving such a low result because of experience that I had. On Saturday I went to rent a set of sunbeds with an umbrella which cost 20EUR - 3rd line. Every was great. I went on the next day again and they wanted to charge me 25 EUR for 4th line of the same set. When I asked why there is a difference the boy started coming out with some ridiculous explanations - that is higher season, higher demand and all kind of stories. After arguing with him for about 5 minutes, he decided to make an "exception" and give it for 20. An hour later, he came and literally stack the menu in my hands and told me to choose something from it although I told him that I am good. Super disappointing experience from the anyway great beach! All and all, be prepared to pay whatever they tell you to as there is no price list, no nothing. The beach otherwise is the best one we saw in our...
