Andronikos Paleologos'un karısı Anna tarafından yaptırılan bu kapı, İmparatoriçe'nin Thessalonika'da (Selanik'te) uzun zamanlar geçirip şehrin meseleleriyle haşır neşir olduğu dönemden günümüze ulaşabilmiş. Şehrin kuzey surlarını ve akropolisin doğu surlarını bağlayan noktadaki kapının mermer kitabesinde şu yazıyor: "Bu kapı heybetli ve aziz hanımefendimiz ve hükümdarımız Anna Paleologina Hanım'ın emri üzerine; sur bekçisi Ioannes Chamateos, quaestor (sayman), hizmet etmekteyken, 6864 yılında, indiksiyonun dokuzunda (MS 1355/56) inşa edilmiştir."

we went to this place by feet passing through old, narrow, picturesque streets. Climbing up to the hill is quite difficult for people who has no much training to walk.
