The place itself is nicely designed and clean. The drinks are super as well. The prices are just ok. The only minus is the system for letting people sit near the edge so you can see the city. If a table is free, they call on people from other tables, with priority to those who came earlier. This caused a lot of visible confusion to for our group and to other in the restaurant, especially since the staff delivered this information in a sort of mean manner. I can imagine it's frustrating for them to have to say this to every customer, but maybe a visible note somewhere would have helped.

Top views of the whole Thessaloniki, great drinks and atmosphere, very kind staff. There was no electricity on my visit so all was beautifully candle-lit. All cocktails were available as they had enough ice well stored. Drinks are served with table water and crisps or a small nut/seeds snack. Clean toilets downstairs, entrance with a code. Walking back down to the seafront felt a bit adventurous through the narrow streets and stairways of the Ano Poli (upper city), but since the electricity was back it was safe and well worth the experience.

A rooftop bar/terras with an amazing of the bay of Thessaloniki and the ancient wall. The prices are within reason (I genuinely expected higher prices because of its location and views). Every staff member was polite and professional. Our initial seating was on the second "row" due to that this bar was fully occupied, but when there was a table free with the best view. The staff offered us to relocate to this table with the amazing view. (I apologize for the poor photo. In my defense I was too busy enjoying the view(s))

Ωραία η θέση του μαγαζιού για καφέ ή ποτό με θέα στην πόλη και την Περαία στο βάθος. Και τα καλά τελειώνουν με τη θέα. Τα αρνητικά αρχίζουν με το ίδιο το μαγαζί, το οποίο χρειάζεται επειγόντως ανακαίνιση. Οι άβολες και κακόγουστες καρέκλες μπορεί να ήταν ανεκτές πριν από... 20 χρόνια, αλλά εν έτει είναι 2018 είναι απλά αστείο και μελαγχολικό θέαμα. Επίσης, όταν το βασικό σου "προϊόν" είναι η προνομιακή σου θέση και η θέα που προσφέρεις, πώς είναι δυνατόν να έχεις αυτά τα κάγκελα κι όχι γυαλί; Ακόμα κι αν είσαι υποχρεωμένος βάσει πολεοδομίας και περιορισμών λόγω του ότι είσαι στην Άνω Πόλη να έχεις κάγκελα, δεν μπορεί να μην υπάρχει κάποια πιο καλόγουστη επιλογή... Η εξυπηρέτηση του μαγαζιού είναι άλλοτε απλώς καλή κι άλλοτε αργή και η εμπειρία μας με έναν κύριο που υποθέσαμε ότι είναι ιδιοκτήτης ήταν λίγο δυσάρεστη. Κάναμε κίνηση να ενώσουμε τραπέζια μιας και ήμαστε μεγάλη παρέα, και μας σταμάτησε με απότομο τρόπο, μπαίνοντας εκείνος μπροστά μας και κάνοντας μόνος του το ίδιο πράγμα που ξεκινήσαμε να κάνουμε κι εμείς. Δεκτό και σεβαστό ότι σαν μαγαζί επιλέγεις να μετακινείς εσύ ο ίδιος τα τραπέζια, αλλά ο τρόπος που μιλάς και συμπεριφέρεσαι στον πελάτη πρέπει πάντα να είναι ευγενικός σε όλα τα επίπεδα. Εμάς μας έφερε σε πολύ άβολη θέση και για τους εαυτούς μας αλλά και για τους φίλους μας που ήταν επισκέπτες στη Θεσσαλονίκη και μας είχαν εμπιστευτεί για την επιλογή του μαγαζιού. Μας χάλασε τη διάθεση και φυσικά έκτοτε δεν έχουμε πατήσει πόδι εκεί. Ίσως αν γίνει ανακαίνιση να του δώσουμε άλλη μια ευκαιρία. 6.1.2017

“Castra” is a classic caffe with an astonishing view of the majestic city of Thessaloniki! It might seem tiring to climb two flights of stairs, but the view is very rewarding! The toilets are very clean and accessible only with a password written in the receipt! Wi-Fi is also available for the visitors with the password also written in the receipt. All in all, a great experience and if the weather is good, the view can become amazing!

The most romantic place in Thessaloniki! This is definitely the place with the best view in the city! The terrace is clean and spacious with plenty of seatings and all offer amazing view of Thermaikos gulf. The drinks catalogue has a nice variety of drinks witch are served by really kind personnel. On the plus, the waitress offered us some some helpful info of the area! Hoping to visit again soon!
