Fish Tavern o Perivolos — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

When we arrived there were lots of empty tables, but the one in the shadow near the beach we were not allowed to take. It stayed empty all the time while we were there. This restaurant seems to be a hub for tour busses. While we stayed there at least three tour busses arrived that sent the guests to this restaurant which is quite odd. The guests from the busses seemed quite annoying and demanding and also took lots of time from the staff. The food was quite overpriced. It looked good but was lacking salt and seasoning and got cold quite fast. We were missing some slices of lemon which would have gone well with it. The portion was quite big but also got cold pretty fast and not all the fish was cooked evenly. The santorini salad was basically just a greek salad with some caper leaves, not the kind of santorini salad we usually got in other places. The wine was quite nice and good. The staff was friendly and helpful otherwise as well. There is fresh fish in the cooler box and I can imagine this used to be quite a good restaurant. But with all the tour busses arriving and bringing hoards of uninformed tourists, the quality seems to have dropped considerably. Visited this place twice first time solo and second with a friend.

Service: Initially when we arrived the service was good up until the time we ordered. Once the server realized the bill was not going to be very high the attitude completely changed. When the beer arrived the server opened and left is far in the corner away from us with the glass. Didn't say anything and walked off. Later after the food we asked for the bill 3 times twice to the other waiter and once to the main one (note: they were not busy) eventually the guy came and announced the bill and when we thanked him then replied in a very condescending tone. Then once we paid and asked for change as we wanted to leave 15% tip maybe he wanted more so once he returned with the change he literally kept it in front of my friend`s face.

Food: Ordered grilled Octopus which came with hummus.. The second time we ordered steamed mussels and mussels cooked with herbs, tomato and cheese. Both dishes were good. However the service left a very bad after taste which is sadly very hard to forget.

Key Take Away: If your bill is high then the service will be decent else they will treat you really badly. This happened twice so its no coincidence. Mostly its the main server who has that attitude. Overall the...

Don’t go there, Not Honest waiters.

We asked about the small fish of the day, they said it is Anchovie, I said I don’t like it and they said come I will show you. they show me a small fish and I said it is OK good small and I order one portion, but it was the other item on the menu the fish per kilogram and they gave us five without informing me that is another item.

And it was double price of the item I asked about .

Also, they offered us at first without asking and without saying anything, beetroot sauce, bread, and water and I told them I don’t need water. Take it back, but on the check, you can see they counted water. I went back and ask them why they count water and they gave me back the money. But it is their trick. You can see the layer of béchamel sauce on moussaka, and it is not normal. They bring something on your table and you think it is on the house but actually, it is not on the house and they want the money for them.
