A Complete Disaster – Avoid at All Costs!
My experience at Barolo Beach Club in Santorini was an utter disappointment, and I can’t warn people enough to stay away.
We booked well in advance, requesting front-row sunbeds for €50. When we arrived, despite our reservation, we were told those weren’t available and were instead pushed to take a cabana at double the price. As a pathetic consolation, they offered us two bottles of water, which they then had the nerve to try charging us for at the end!
Our cabana was by the shallow pool, which was completely overrun by unruly children. What should have been a relaxing, luxurious atmosphere felt more like a noisy, chaotic kids’ water park. Children were constantly jumping, diving, and splashing—drenching guests nearby. Pool water even splashed into my cocktail and chips. The staff stood by and did nothing major despite several complaints.
Service overall was mediocre. We had ask for ice three time until finally recived. We ordered some chips and a cocktail (both good), and a pizza, which was just decent.
Throughout the day, I complained multiple times to different staff members about the unacceptable situation, but nothing changed. The so-called “luxurious” environment was utterly ruined by the club’s inability to enforce even the most basic rules, despite them being clearly posted. If Barolo Beach Club wants to be considered high-end, they should ban children from these areas or at least enforce the rules, regardless of how much the parents spend.
To top it all off, after yet another complaint, I finally spoke to a manager at the end of our visit. Only then did they try to offer us something in return for our awful experience—but by that point it was much too late, as we already had another reservation elsewhere and needed to leave.
And just to be clear: we paid in full for everything, there was no discount offered.
Save your money, time, and patience—go anywhere else. This place was a complete waste and truly one of the worst, most infuriating experiences I’ve ever had. One star, only because zero...

I had booked a reservation for 2 people for seating around the pool online, mentioning it was for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival, a very uninterested and dismissive server rushed us to the pool area and asked us where we wanted to sit. I asked how much each area was and if it was a consumption charge e.g minimum spend or if the bed was inclusive of food and drinks expenditure, to which the man replied ‘no the bed is free for the guest to have as much as they want’. Not a single mention of prices. I also wanted to have a look at which bed had sun exposure but we were rushed into picking one which was in the shade.
There was no service throughout the day, had to ask multiple times for drinks etc. no check backs and to put it simply 0 interaction with any servers.
When it was time to leave we were passed between servers for someone to take payment. As the amount came up on the card machine I knew something was wrong as the price was triple what I had expected it to be. Upon request to see the receipt which was a lengthy process, it was clear we had been charged £120 just for use of the pool bed which we were completely unaware of after being told there was no charge by the server!!!!
I felt as though I’d been lied to and it was a complete scam. I had enquired about the price upon arrival in a clear manner, had I of known the price I would’ve walked straight out.
I am used to 5 star experiences and beautiful beach clubs, but this was far from it. There are children constantly splashing and jumping in the pool which is directly next to the pool beds. Multiple guests complained but obviously nothing can be done. There is 0 service, warmth or interest from any members of staff, and the whole experience felt rushed, uncomfortable and like we were taken for a ride.
Do not come, there are many other beach clubs along the strip who will be transparent with price and provide service which is worth...

Me and my mates came to Santorini for a proper lads' holiday, expecting sun, sea, and good vibes. Instead, our visit to Barolo’ restaurant /bar in Perivolos Santorini’s beach was an absolute disaster. Hands down the worst beach bar/restaurant we’ve ever been to.
First off, the staff were shockingly rude—proper arrogant and condescending. They acted like we were a burden just for showing up. No welcome, no smiles, just eye-rolls and snappy responses. The owner’s even worse—an unhinged bloke who screams at his staff in front of everyone and picks fights with customers he doesn’t like. We saw him lose it at a couple just for asking about their order. Total nutcase.
The food? Absolute rubbish. Overpriced doesn’t even begin to cover it—€25 for a soggy, tasteless burger and a handful of cold chips? You’re having a laugh. Everything we ordered was either undercooked or just plain grim. Honestly, you’re better off grabbing a gyro from a street cart for a fraction of the price.
And don’t get me started on the music. The sound system blared the most dreadful, outdated playlist—think cheesy 90s Eurodance on repeat. Killed any chance of a chill beach vibe. The whole place felt like a scam to fleece tourists.
Save your money and your sanity. There are loads of better spots in Perivolos that actually care about their customers....
