A Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations….
I visited this restaurant in August for what was supposed to be a memorable sunset dinner. We booked the front seats for sunset. Unfortunately, it turned into a frustrating ordeal due to an incident with my phone and the staff’s behavior.
Upon arrival, we were advised to wait upstairs until it cooled down before being seated. During this time, I used the restroom and accidentally left my phone behind (I know, I should’ve left it at the table or in my purse, lesson learned). When I quickly realized my mistake and returned, the phone was already gone. I asked the restroom attendant if she had seen it, but she repeatedly claimed, “No, no phone,” and could not communicate further as she didn’t speak English.
The restaurant servers tried to assist, but the phone wasn’t found. I had to drive back to my hotel to grab my Apple Watch in an attempt to locate it. When I returned to the restaurant, I tracked the phone to the restroom area. Playing a sound on it, I found both restroom attendants trying to place my phone on a wall/bench near the bushes on the right side of the females restroom. When I confronted them, they acted startled, claiming they “found it there.” The male attendant even laughed as I walked away, which was incredibly unprofessional and upsetting.
By this point, I had missed the sunset, lost my appetite, and felt deeply frustrated with the entire experience. This restaurant came highly recommended and had great reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. The staff’s behavior, particularly the restroom workers, was unacceptable and made me question how such unreliable people could be employed at an establishment like this.
We left without eating and didn’t even bother asking for a refund. My advice: if you visit, keep a tight hold on your belongings, or better yet, avoid this place altogether. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I...
Read moreI tried to contact company 2 days before visit of my group of 5 people from cruise ship. On official site I sent 3 mails to 2 mail adresses. No answer at all. When we came to the place they asked us for reservation. I wonder if reservations online are accepted at all. Than they told us there is no place for wine tasting but only in restaurant part. They gave us a place at table for 5 but they gave it also to 2 ladies, and we have to move to another one. We took a place there. Although there are several waiters there is only ONE who takes orders and makes a bill. We waited for half an hour to put an order. It was dissapointed for me that we couldn't order plate of local food /old chease etc/ for the first plate which you can order in wine tasting part. We ordered some food. We got 4 of 5 orders in some time. Ordered schrimps arrived 1 hour later (!) after 2 complaints. It seems they didn't have schrimps because finally they served a plate full of lentils and one pretty old schrimp /picture to admire attached/. Without any apologize At the end they forgot us for an hour. I had to ask once more to be served as we asked. The only authorised waiter went in fear and told us we are not he only customers. In that time there were about 10 guests in the whole restaurant /including 5 of us/. I had to remember him that I am a guest and not him and I complained about stupid organization of work which is mindless. It seems the other waiters thinks th same but they are afraid and do not speak anything. We made a bill of 375 Euros which I believe was not the weakest one in that time. My guests were dissapointed and at the end we even didn't buy any wine to bring with us /what we had intention for/. This was my second visit to this place and a last one. In Santoriny there are many small wineries with beutifull wines. Sunset is wonderfull in the whole Santorini...
Read moreOur recent to Santos Winery in Santorini was nothing short of spectacular. Despite an unexpected schedule change from our cruise ship, which unfortunately caused us to miss the famed Santorini sunset, our experience was still immensely enjoyable and memorable.
The View: From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking views left us in awe. The panoramic vista of the caldera, with its dramatic cliffs and the azure Aegean Sea, provided a stunning backdrop that perfectly complemented our wine tasting. It's a sight that stays with you, long after you've left the island.
Group Experience: Traveling with a group of 17 can often be challenging, but the staff at Santos Winery managed our large party with grace and efficiency. Everyone in our group had a fantastic time, relishing the experience from start to finish.
Wine and Food: While the prices were on the higher side, the quality of the wine and the accompanying feast made it worthwhile. Each wine we sampled showcased the unique characteristics of Santorini's volcanic soil, and the spread of local delicacies was simply divine. The flavors were rich and authentic, making every bite and sip a delight.
Service and Ambiance: The ambiance at Santos Winery is both relaxing and refined. However, our one regret was that the visit felt a bit rushed. We would have loved to linger longer, soaking in the views and savoring the wines at a more leisurely pace.
Final Thoughts: Despite missing the sunset and the slightly rushed experience, Santos Winery left a lasting impression on all of us. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Santorini. If you’re looking for a place to relax, enjoy exquisite wines, and take in some of the most beautiful views in the world, Santos Winery is a must-visit. We look forward to returning and hopefully, next time, catching that perfect...
