On this small port in Santorini, the ferries come and go all day long. People arrive, wait for their boat, and leave. Nobody ever comes back. The owners of the restaurants here know it, so they don’t care about doing their job correctly.
For years, this place was famous for bad food, rude waiters, and dirty tables. The restaurants competed to be the worst. Why try harder, if you know you will never see the same customer twice?
But then came the Dock Café.
The owner had a different idea. When others served terrible food, here they made something simple, fresh, and good. When other waiters were aggressive and unpleasant, here someone would help you set down your bags, make sure you were comfortable, and give you a place to rest. When others didn’t care where you were going next, here they asked where your boat is going and make sure you are in the right place at the right time.
It’s no surprise we gave it a perfect 5 out of 5. Not because it’s the best restaurant in Greece (it’s really not) but because it sends a message: that even in a place where everyone believes nothing can change, passion and care can create something beautiful.
If you need proof, look around. This little port has maybe 500 tables spread across all the restaurants. The Dock Café owns just 10 of them. All 10 are full of happy individuals, spending their money with a big smile. The other 490? Empty.
Long live the Dock Café and long live those who play the long game, who choose care over shortcuts, and who bring light to places the world has already given up...

She even gave me a free shot of alcohol for absolutely no reason. Prices are super reasonable (literally the cheapest Greek salad I’ve had in Greece and not lacking quality at all).
After reading reviews of other cafes on the dock I’d honestly say just come here, support a business doing it right and enjoy yourselves at the same time knowing you’re in safe hands.
My only criticism, the scrambled eggs could have used toasted sourdough and another egg but otherwise I won’t complain about a thing. Thank you for the kindness, you should...
Read moreEasily the best bourgatsa i have ever had. It was my first time trying bourgatsa, it was so good I had to ask the lady to tell me and she kindly wrote it down so I can find it in the future when I go to other bakeries. Ever since then I’ve been trying bourgatsa everywhere else on different islands but this is still the best one. Perfect flakes and perfectly sweet. Im definitely getting this again when I come back to Santorini! And the people are so kind!!! ugh I love it so much that I’m in paros 4 days after I had it and had to leave...
