I wanted years to visit this beach but the 10+15 euros for the entrance made me to avoid it. But I wanted to have opinion for this beach which on map looks awesome. The beach is one beautiful bay which looks south and not west. That is awesome. I visit it monday 8:30 morning in vacation season which many are in islands and the place had a lot people. Not like a chinese beach but the 1st and 2nd seats was almost sold out. Many old people visit the beach because has easy access and is very safe like a beach with a lot support inside and outside. Like a beach is a "Attica" masterpiece and is logical the Municipality has made the beach a bank. When you enter has few rocks and then few light no annoying pebbles. But after while the beach has an awesome very soft sand which is great feeling. It go deeper after a while and is very clean and very refreshing. Much more colder in the same season against the most "Attica" beaches. Outside the beach looks outstanding and very beautiful. Has a lot green around even you can not enjoy it well because tge buildings which the Municipality made and lock the beach and made it organized. If this beach was no organized and it was pure without crowd, can be one of the best in the country and one of the top 3 in "Attica". Like a beach has no weakness. Is amazing. The problem is the crowd and because is organized. If money is no problem, visit it working days morning and not...
Read moreCame here on a Sunday early afternoon. €15/adult; our kids (2 + 4 yo) were both free. For €30 total, I thought it was worth it as we were able to secure sun beds/umbrella - it was first come first serve but people were always coming and going. There was a sign at the entrance that said there were no more umbrellas available, yet since there are so many trees everywhere, it was very easy to go to shaded areas all around; you can easily drag the blue sun beds from shade to shade. Bathrooms and toilets were clean, it came with changing rooms, and also outdoor showers. Cafes had a great variety of packaged ice creams, simple sandwiches, hot dog, coffee, water, etc. Nothing fancy, and if you are in the mood for real meals, there are restaurants close by - walking distance.
Since we were traveling, we took public transport from the center of Athens; took the M2 metro and transferred to bus 122. Coming to the beach was not so crowded on the bus, but be warned, in the late afternoon, on the way back, the bus was beyond overcrowded and uncomfortable. Don’t sit on the left side of the bus ride back to the the Metro, the sun will be beaming down on you and it will be quite the sweaty bus ride haha! Looking back, a taxi ride to the Metro, especially with young kids, would have been...
