Hungarian Museum of Photography — Attraction in Kecskeméti járás

This place is a real gem! We popped in almost accidentally, just driving through the town, and came across a massive collection of cameras being displayed and a temporary (I suppose) photo exhibition which also was very nice and interesting. But, again, the collection of cameras is amazing, we were impressed! This museum is definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re interested in photography. Despite this museum describing itself as the national photographic museum there is no access for walk in visitors to the collection. We were only able to see a tiny exhibition. This was a bitter disappointment. Therefore, I don’t recommend travelling to Kecskemét if your hope is to see work by the great Hungarian...

Egykori ortodox zsinagóga, amelyben ma a Magyar Fenykepeszeti Múzeum található. Érdemes lenne megemlíteni, hogy Kecskemét híres fotósa volt a zsidó Fanto Bernát, akit családjával együtt 1944 júniusában a kecskeméti gettóba hurcoltak, ahonnan őt már nem tudták Auschwitzba hurcolni, mert ott meghalt, viszont a családját igen. Senki nem menekült meg. A kapun belül a falon található Kecskemét város zsidó áldozatainak a névsora, de sajnos csak az látja, aki behatol a kapun. A múzeumba nem tudtunk...
