I loved this grandiose church. It was absolutely empty on a Sunday afternoon and I was so glad it was open! It felt dump and cold, and many decorations were ruined and some walls falling in pieces. Clearly it needs to be renovated inside, and works are already ongoing outside (June 2023). Frescoes and paintings are nice and there's a massive organ too. After the front door and just before entering the church there's a shop booth, which I wonder when was last open! Such a thing of and from the past, which would be sad to lose!

Kecskemét, Nagytemplom, 1774 és 1806 között épült Oswald Gáspár piarista építész tervei alapján. A templom kereszttel együtt 75 méter magas körfolyosós tornyán a Korinthoszi pilaszterek felett óraíves főpárkány húzódik. A copf stílusú toronysisak gazdagon részletezett, felette a kereszt a gömbbel aranyozott. A homlokzat középső részét hatalmas, kettős féloszlopokkal alátámasztott timpanon alkotja, oldalt pedig két fél-pillérpár keretezi. Az erősen plasztikus főhomlokzat arányai nyugodtak, arányosak

2023- még m indig felújítják! A kecskeméti Urunk mennybemenetele társszékesegyház (közismert nevén nagytemplom) 1993 óta a Kalocsa-Kecskeméti főegyházmegye társszékesegyháza, a város és a Kiskunság legnagyobb temploma. 1774 és 1806 között épült copf stílusban. A társszékesegyház belseje monumentális, hámorboltszakaszos, 62 méter hosszú, 25 méter széles, körülbelül 20-25 méter magas, 22 000 m³ légterű, 6 oldalkápolnával szegélyezett, késő barokk stílusú, meglehetősen gazdagon díszített tér.

Sehr schöne Kirche ! So was gibt nicht überall und bin sehr glücklich dass ich die Möglichkeit habe zu besuchen . Sehr beeindruckt sind die Bilder und Malereien , muss leider sagen Stadt Soll investieren und unbedingt restaurieren ! Innenwände sind sehr maroden und sehr Renovierung bedürftig!

Nagyon szép templom különleges épitészeti értékekkel. Kivülről ráférne a felújitás. - - -A mellette levő hotel szállóvendégeként nagyra értékeltük a vasárnap hajnali 6 és 7 órás harangozást. Javasolnám a teljesség kedvéért, hogy vezessék be az éjjel 3 órás harangozást is.

Die Kirche wird gerade noch renoviert, aber es scheint, dass die Arbeiten bald abgeschlossen werden. Von der Farbgebung angelehnt zum Rathaus. Von Innen ist die Kirche auch beeindruckend, ein Besuch lohnt sich.
