Sounds to be a nice museum. My friend living in Reykjavik told me I had to do it as it was amazing. I discovered artist I didn’t known and will add it to my playlist for sure but my experience on the museum was not as great as said...

I came today around 2pm and basically not been welcomed: the girl at the front desk just asked me if I wanted a ticket and made me pay. I try to ask some information like « How long we need to visit the museum? » and maybe have some information where to start... but the girl just answered me rudely « it will take the time you want » and she sat back behind her desk... I had to visit by my own, and enjoyed some musics but at the end I discovered, I started by the end and there was actually little audio guides numbers through the differents steps of the exhibition. I never been proposed any audio guides at the entrance. It’s a shame I’ve been welcomed by this rude person. She would have give me all needed information and advises (with audio guide) at the beginning, I would have enjoyed this museum in a better way. At the end I will not recommend this place to my friends who plan to visit Iceland. If you want to discover Icelandic Rock/Pop music, search on Google or Spotify (or others streaming platforms) and save your money for...

Great way to kill some time in Keflavik while you wait for a flight or your hotel. The record/slideshow/listen experience was really cool and a good way to find some new music you may or may not know already. The exhibits are all pretty cool and interesting. You could really spend a lot of time here if you wanted to, or you could keep it short and still have a nice experience. It's 1500 isk per adult, so it's fairly cheap too. They had some refreshments you could get, coffee, wine beer, snacks and a gift shop. There's also a movie theater playing music documentaries. Overall was...

You really need to be a fan of all Icelandic music for this to be worth it. It's a really nice well curated museum, but if you're going there for Bjork, Sigur Ros or Of Monsters and Men it's a little lean.

There are some very cool interactive experiences like the ability to sing, play guitar/bass and drums. The interactive vinyl experience is worth the trip.

Beyond that it's a little ho-hum and seems more like a corporate meeting space more than an actual museum.

Merch is ok. Good for CDs and Vinyl, not so much...

Visited 2 years ago: Very well done museum! Love the album covers, play instrument area like the electric guitar, drums and keyboards, the different interactive exhibits like choosing your record on the turntable and getting a visual education on the chosen record. There was also the cinema playing a video as well. It's very well curated and the facility is pretty amazing! They also have other rooms/halls that service for music school and concert/multifunctional hall.

Had so much fun. Went in expecting not much so was pleasantly surprised. We only saw 2 other people in the whole place. Got to listen and familiarise myself with Icelandic music and stars, play with a kareoke machine (some Bjork of course!) and drum sets and read the wall info. Defintely a good place to kill time if plane gets delayed like ours did...

It's really a large room with a small upstairs area. The exhibits are interesting and informative. About 1,500 Kroners for an adult. If you rush through you can probably see it within 45 minutes and read everything in a more detailed level you could spend 1.5 hours.
