Anjuna Flea Market on Wednesday is a treasure trove of trinkets, handicrafts, hippie clothing, souvenirs and everything else from cheap bags to footwear and junk jewellery. Also popular as the queen of hippie flea markets, the Anjuna Flea Market as much a part of the Goa experience as the beaches. Offering a multiple range of products from Keralan spices, to Kashmiri jewellery, wooden toys from Karnataka to Jimi Hendrix t-shirts, the market is a must-visit.

Besides the trinkets and regular knick-knacks, Anjuna Flea Market also hosts live music and band performances. One can relish amazing sea-food and cold beer from the shacks on the beach. Originally, the flea market covered a small area on the beach but nowadays it sprawls from the golden shores back to the paddy fields with umpteen stalls selling tidbits.

Tips : Bargain as much as you can. Quote a price less than half of what has been told to you. The shopkeepers try to con the tourists as they have no idea about the actual price. Do not be fooled into thinking that any product is original or authentic. Almost all of them are first copies or duplicates. Keep a note on the weighing balance. Sometimes the balance is tempered to display wrong weights of products like spices etc. Keep clear of the pick-pockets and smugglers and pay special attention to your valuables- phones,...

From clothes, decor, trinkets and shoes to jewellery, kaftans, bamboo sling bags and tribal marks, Anjuna Flea market is one of a kind. It is also the best place to look for Tibetan and Nepali goods. Its alluring charm will blow your heart away. The market was started in the early 1960’s by hippie travelers to showcase their unique products. Hippies used to sell their second-hand products to buy new products whenever they ran out of money. People loved their products because of their uniqueness. Locals used to call it the open-air goods exchange market. According to a popular Rumor this market was founded by eight finger Eddie in 1975. Once the hippies ended up reaching the shores of Anjuna while following the trail through Eastern Europe. They accidentally burned their passport and also had no money. To solve this money problem, they started selling their unique products. Since then, Anjuna Flea Market has been luring tourists and shoppers to come and get lost in its mesmerizing charm. Dance Parties, food stalls, music and night parties are the life of Anjuna Flea Market. Come here once and you will never...
