Aura beach cafe — Restaurant in Goa

I had the worst experience in Auro in Goa, in all these year of coming to Goa. Being an ex Hyatt manager and from the hospitality industry am shock to see such bad attitude of the bar tenders! the worst staff i have ever come across.

Me and a friend went to the bar to buy 3 tequila shots which was silver and paid 2400 and i gave the coupons to the bar tender asking for the same, another bar tender with spectical came and poured less tequila when i asked him why was he pouring less he said he poured extra in one glass to which i said that does not make sense as it should be of equal measure. he then said i need to pay another 1k as he pour gold, to which i was shocked as we had asked for sliver and not gols and he started behaviour rude and said go drink this and with alot if bad attitude he was trying to scam me by pouring less and making me pay extra for what i dint even order. he than told me you drink and you don know which is a gold and silver bottle! this is was extremely bad!

I was accompanied with a Dj that played at this venue and was in the lineup for the night the venue had given them coupons, when this Artist/ friend went to drinks with these coupons the same bar tender said he can only buy one drink and also had the bad attitude and asked him where did he steel these coupons from! also made him pay extra 200 for mixers which was not being charged to any others guests and all this behaviour to us just because we caught them trying to scam us.

This is the worst place i have visited ever and will not recommended any one to visit here and also if you do please stay away from ordering anything cause these bar tender are only out to scam you and insult you! This place does not even...

I used to come here quite frequently, but today's experience wasn't what it used to be.

Before the DJ arrived, the music was terrible. The DJ was great. There's no reason to contrast the DJ with rubbish music. Good DJs don't need that. Aura was famous for its music. This is spoiling it.

But the food was worst. There was sand in the naan. First I thought it was just mine, but later my wife, my friend, and my friend's wife said they also had sand in their naan. The chicken Vindaloo wasn't as good as it used to be. What it lacked in taste, it made up for in hotness. It's okay for a Vindaloo to be very hot, but not at the expense of actual taste. The rice was sub standard, too. My friend's virgin piña colada wasn't tasty. The prawns curry was okay-ish. The buttermilk was bad.

Also, the behavior of the staff is greedy beyond questionable. When my friend was shifting from inside to the beach to be able to play with his daughter near the water, and wanted to order a coffee, they said minimum order is INR 1,000. He had to explain that we already had a big tap going inside. Plus, his coffee then got never delivered, although he attempted his order...

The Aura Beach Cafe, especially at night is an unsafe space. Despite the positive reviews, going to Aura for a party at night can be a very unpleasant experience.

The staff there are abusive and act like thugs, I was physically assaulted while in a very sane state of mind (punched on the face, which resulted to a chipped tooth and a swollen lip and blood) by a staff member without any cause when I went there with a group of cousins (male and female), not because I misbehaved or even physically did anything, but because I asked him to waiver off the entry charge for one person, to which he reacted with violence. When my female cousins reacted to it, they were aggressive towards them too and it was a very scary situation. When I threatened to call the cops on them, they replied that "the cops would never take our side and nothing would happen because it is Goa".

They made everyone who entered, especially the females very uncomfortable. The owners did make an effort to pacify us and made the bouncer apologize but I feel obliged to share my experience so that people know how unsafe the place...
