Mount Carmel Church — Attraction in Goa

This church has a beautiful façade, so I decided to visit at 9:30am on Wednesday, during the hours that Google Maps says it’s open. Well, the doors are locked, so I wasn’t able to see the interior. Why the 1 star? The front gate was wide open so I entered. At first, one dog barked loudly and the security guard told me to ignore the dog. But then 4 vicious dogs came out and started to attack me. If the security guard didn’t come and chase the dogs away, I probably would have been bitten. If the church doesn’t want visitors to come outside Mass hours, why not shut the gates, and/or post a “No entry” sign? Why does the church have to keep vicious dogs like this? Scary experience. ...

Rather a WARNING:

I tried to visit the Church this morning and was willing to attend the Mass at 8am as I found the info in other reviews (and no other was available).

The side gate to the Church's property was wide open and when I entered I GOT ATTACKED BY AGRESSIVE DOGS! They ripped my dress and it seems it wasn't the first time someone got attacked by them - the man I met in there shouted from afar that they bite, quite too late... Such an incident while trying to attend the Mass was shocking to me and I really concerned about other people's safety!!!
