Cleanliness: Due to the high foot traffic, the overall cleanliness might not be ideal for everyone. Teen Darwaza: A Vibrant Shopping Experience with Historical Charm (But Be Prepared!) Teen Darwaza is a shopper's paradise for those seeking a unique and bustling experience. This historic gateway, built in 1415, now stands as a vibrant marketplace. Here's what you can expect: Endless Variety: From clothes, toys, and bags to gifts and even furniture, Teen Darwaza offers a vast selection at competitive prices. Foodie Finds: While limited, there are street vendors serving delicious light bites to keep you fueled during your shopping spree. Historical Significance: Don't forget to admire the architectural beauty of the Teen Darwaza itself, a gateway to the Bhadra Fort. Keep in Mind: Crowded & Bustling: Teen Darwaza is extremely crowded, especially on weekends. Be prepared for narrow streets and close quarters while navigating. Cleanliness & Safety: Cleanliness can be a concern. Some areas may have litter and unpleasant odors. Keep an eye on your belongings, as petty theft can occur in crowded marketplaces. Parking: There's no parking on-site. Utilize nearby pay-and-park facilities or try your luck with two-wheeler parking, though finding a safe spot can be challenging. Overall: Teen Darwaza offers a truly immersive shopping experience, perfect for those seeking local finds and a taste of Ahmedabad's vibrant culture. Just be prepared for the crowds and come with a sense of adventure! Tips: * Visit during weekdays for a slightly less crowded experience. * Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on uneven surfaces. * Bargain for the best deals! * Carry cash for smaller purchases, as not all vendors may have card machines. I hope this review helps!

Teen Darwaja is a historical gateway on the east of the Bhadra Fort in Ahmedabad. Built by Ahmed Shah I in 1415, the gateway has three arches which led into a large enclosure, forming the outer courtyard of the palace called Maidan Shah in past, with a fountain and raised terrace in the centre. The roadway in the central opening is 17 feet wide, and that of each side arch is 13 feet wide. It has highly decorated buttresses on the faces of piers between the arches. The height of the arches is twenty-five feet. The terrace on the top of the gateway was formerly roofed over. An eternal lamp as a symbol of a legend associated with Goddess Laxmi and Sidi Kotwal has been burning since 600 years by a Muslim family. Also an inscription by Maratha governor Chimnaji Raghunath has been inscribed on Teen Darwaja declaring equal rights to women in heritance of ancestral property. One of the most iconic monument of the World Heritage City, Ahmedabad, Teen Darwaja today houses a congested market surrounding it.

Teen darwaza is part of old Ahmedabad I can say where you can buy all the stuff like clothing, cutlery, shoes, belt, household items, plastics, bags, street food and much more like a to z , top to bottom, you can find all the necessary things here at reasonable price and yes if you are planning to go there bring your own bag and cash because some people with small business are there not using codes for transaction. TIP- you have to be very good at bargaining 😉( bhav tol ana chahiye). Take care of your stuff. If you are bringing your vehicle then please park where parking is available and make sure while driving that it's not one way😅. Otherwise memo 📝 ayega Ghar par (Aj hamara a gaya😅 because we don't have any idea about it, so it's my personal advice to everyone). At teen darwaza you can find beautiful jwellery like rajputana jwellery (bandhi , chuda n all).. I just love all that stuff. And please take care in this pandemic situation. Wear mask and senitize your hands.

Our visit to Teen Darwaza in the Old City of Ahmedabad was an enriching experience, steeped in history and legend. The iconic three gates, which lead to Bhadra Fort, are not just an architectural marvel but also home to a fascinating story. A small diya (oil lamp) has been burning here continuously for 600 years, symbolizing an ancient legend of Goddess Lakshmi and a brave guard, Khawaja Siddique Kotwal. His self-sacrifice, in the legend, ensured the prosperity of Ahmedabad by keeping the Goddess in the city forever. What made this spot even more special is that the eternal lamp, a tribute to Goddess Lakshmi, has been maintained by a Muslim family for centuries, reflecting the harmonious blend of cultures and beliefs in Ahmedabad. Teen Darwaza is more than just a historical gate; it's a place where stories, faith, and tradition come together beautifully. A must-visit if you're exploring Ahmedabad's heritage!

This historical monument in Ahmedabad stands as a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage. As I approached the magnificent gateway, I couldn't help but be amazed by its grandeur and intricate architecture. The detailed carvings on the walls depict stories of the past, transporting visitors back in time. The arches and pillars are beautifully crafted, showcasing the skilled craftsmanship of the bygone era. I loved the vibrant atmosphere surrounding Teen Darwaza, with local vendors selling delicious street food and colorful handicrafts. It added to the charm and authenticity of the place. I recommend visiting during the early morning or late evening to enjoy a peaceful time and avoid the crowds. It's a perfect spot for history enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the city's history
