New Irani Cafe: A Love Letter to Non-Vegetarian Delights (Cash Only!)

The New Irani Cafe in Ahmedabad isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience that warms the soul and satisfies the stomach. After multiple visits, I can confidently say this place never disappoints.

Beyond a Meal, An Emotion:

There's a certain magic to the New Irani Cafe. It goes beyond the delicious food – it's an embodiment of a bygone era, a place steeped in history and tradition. Every visit feels like a warm hug, a comforting journey back in time.

A Non-Vegetarian's Paradise:

Calling all meat lovers! This is your haven. The menu is a celebration of all things non-vegetarian, and the portions are incredibly generous.

Dishes to Die For:

Chicken Masala (₹210): This dish is a flavor bomb! The succulent chicken leg and thigh are cooked to perfection in a fiery and aromatic masala. Spicy food enthusiasts, this one's for you!

Mutton Paya (All-Time Favorite): This slow-cooked dish featuring trotters and mutton is an absolute must-try. Expect fall-off-the-bone tenderness and a rich, flavorful broth.

Mutton Galore: For the mutton aficionados, the mutton ghost and mutton gravy are simply divine. The meat is cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection, bursting with flavor in every bite. Perfect Pairings:

Masala Rice (₹70): This fragrant rice is the ideal accompaniment to any of their curries. It soaks up all the delicious flavors and adds another dimension to the meal.

Chaska Bun (₹40 with Tea): This sweet and savory bun is a classic Irani cafe combo. Dunk it in your tea for a delightful textural and taste contrast.

Nutella Bun (₹70): Calling all sweet tooths! This decadent Nutella-filled bun is pure indulgence. The perfect way to end your savory feast. If you are a spicy head, ask for extra fry at the cost just 10/-

Ambiance and Service Fit for Royalty:

The ambiance at the New Irani Cafe is charming and nostalgic. The service is top-notch; the staff is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall warmth of the experience.

A Must-Visit (With a Cash Only Caveat):

A Taste of Irani Delights in Ahmedabad

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Irani Restaurant located on Harlapur Lane in the heart of Old City, Gheekanta, Ahmedabad. My culinary journey at this quaint establishment left me with a delightful experience to cherish.

Ambiance: The restaurant's vintage charm immediately catches your eye as you enter. With its rustic décor, old-world furniture, and a welcoming atmosphere, it transports you to a bygone era. The seating arrangement may be cozy, but it adds to the warmth and authenticity of the place.

Dishes: I indulged in some classic Irani dishes during my visit. The Butter Chicken was a revelation. Its creamy tomato-based sauce, paired with tender chicken pieces, was a harmonious blend of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The Mutton Korma, with its rich and aromatic gravy, was a true testament to the chef's expertise. Both dishes showcased the Irani Restaurant's dedication to traditional recipes.

The Maska Bun was the perfect accompaniment to my meal. Freshly baked, it was generously slathered with creamy butter, making it an irresistible treat. And of course, no Irani meal is complete without a cup of Irani Chai. The tea was brewed to perfection, striking a balance between strong and soothing, just the way it should be.

Service: The service was friendly and attentive. The staff was eager to provide recommendations and ensure a pleasant dining experience. Their enthusiasm added to the overall charm of the place.

Conclusion: In a city known for its diverse culinary offerings, Irani Restaurant stands out as a gem preserving the flavors of a bygone era. If you're in Ahmedabad and looking to savor authentic Irani cuisine, this establishment is a must-visit. From the cozy ambiance to the delectable dishes, it offers a slice of history and culture on a plate.

I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Irani Restaurant in Ahmedabad truly captures the essence of...

What an experience! Waah! After a long night shift and nearly 24 hours without a proper meal, I was starving and shivering from hunger when I finally reached New Irani Restaurant. My last meal was at 10 PM the previous night, and apart from a Vada Pav and some chai, I hadn't eaten until 9:43 PM the next day. I ordered Butter Chicken, 6 Tawa Rotis, and 2 Egg Fries. The flavors were beyond words—absolutely delightful. The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, perfectly spiced, while the Tawa Rotis were soft and fresh. The Egg Fries were cooked to perfection, adding a nice variety to the meal. It was a truly lovely experience. After finishing the main course, I enjoyed a cup of tea with soft rusk toast, which was mind-blowing. As I stepped out of the restaurant, I couldn't resist having a Pan, which was the perfect end to a soulful meal. The entire meal cost around 500/- Rs, making it affordable and satisfying. The only drawback was that they don't officially accept card or UPI payments. However, in my case, they discreetly showed me a scanner from under the table, and I was able to pay quickly with my phone. That was a bit unusual, but it didn't take away from the overall fabulous experience. I highly recommend New Irani Restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal.
