Bhdrakali Mata Mandir Bhadra Fort Ahmedabad Mata Bhadrakali is the Nagar Devi mata of Ahmedabad city, the temple located at the heart of the city Ahmedabad whre the Red fort-LALA DARWAJA is exist. First of all Jai MAA Bhadra kali, JAI NAGAR DEVI MATA. AAP NE SHASHTANG DANDVAT PRANAM. The temple is located in a old fort building, and we found the charismatic idol of maa bhadrakali who develop the business city of gujarat, which was known as MANCHESTER of India formally.

Bhadrakali temple is believed to be one of the oldest temple of Ahmedabad and located inside Bhadra Fort in center of city. The exact date of construction is not known but as per the evidence this holy shrine existed at least for more than 800 years. This shrine is dedicated to goddess Bhadrakali and believed as Nagar Devi of Ahmedabad. It is believed that Karndev, King of Patan and founder of Karnavati on bank of River Sabarmati, had established the Bhadrakali temple.

Thus this temple is witness of Mogal rule, Maratha rule, British rule and till date stand as rajdevi of Ahmedabad. Everyday around 3 thousand devotee and tourist visit this holy shrine and many more during the festival, weekends and especially during Navratri . Temple trust manages various social and religious activities like school, medical camp, gaushala, Shree Rambali hall for marriage ceremony etc.

As per the Hindu texts, terrible demon king Mahisasur could not vanished by God or man due to power of boon. Thus only women can killed this demon, Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh bestowed supreme power to Ma Devi Parvati and transforming her in form of Bhadrkali, the goddess of warrior. Every god gave their powerfull weapon to Ma Bhadrakali. Then Ma Bhadrakali defeated demon king and restored peace for all.

In your first sight of the temple you will quickly realise that the existing temple has not sufficiently enough for the owner and the developer of this significant city of west India. Some old edge persons of the city and original citizens of the city are strongly belied that the original temple was located in the premises of existing Jama Masjid , and if you visit the said jama masjid premises you can found numbers of Hindu architectural signs and idols inside and out side of the premises. any way this is the separate subject and belief of people.Existing temple complex is located in a very busiest and crowdy area, anybody can get some special prasad on the days of both navratri, you can found world famous jagganath temple in very near by area from where the rath...

The Bhadrakali Temple is a significant religious landmark situated within the historic Bhadra Fort, located in the heart of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This temple is dedicated to Mata Bhadrakali, revered as the Nagar Devi (city goddess) of Ahmedabad. The temple's origins are ancient, with records indicating its existence for over 800 years, making it one of Ahmedabad's oldest shrines. Legend has it that the temple was established by Karndev, the King of Patan and founder of Karnavati (the former name of Ahmedabad) on the banks of the Sabarmati River.

The temple's location within the Bhadra Fort, which also houses the iconic Lal Darwaja (Red Gate), adds to its historical and cultural significance. Over the centuries, the temple has withstood various rulerships, including Mughal, Maratha, and British colonial periods, symbolizing continuity and resilience in the face of changing times.

Mata Bhadrakali is revered as a powerful deity, particularly known for her role in defeating the demon king Mahisasur, as recounted in Hindu mythology. She is believed to possess formidable strength, bestowed upon her by the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva), who transformed Devi Parvati into Bhadrakali to vanquish the demon. Each god contributed their powerful weapon to aid her in this divine battle.

The temple remains a popular destination for devotees and tourists alike, with around 3,000 visitors daily and significantly more during festivals, weekends, and especially Navratri—the nine-day festival dedicated to the goddess. The temple trust actively engages in social and religious activities, including educational initiatives such as schools, medical camps, and a gaushala (cow shelter).

The ambiance around the temple is bustling and vibrant, with numerous street vendors adding to the lively atmosphere. Due to heavy traffic, especially during peak hours, accessing the temple can be challenging, but visiting early in the morning before 9:00 a.m. ensures a more peaceful experience. The temple opens its doors at around 6:00 a.m., with morning prayers (arti) typically commencing between 8:15 to 8:30 a.m.

Surrounding the temple is the historic Bhadra Market, which has been a center of commerce and culture for centuries. While parking can be difficult in this busy area, the temple's spiritual aura and historical significance make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Ahmedabad's rich heritage and religious traditions. I visited this temple on...

The Bhadrakali temple in Bhadra Fort, Ahmedabad, is thought to have been built in mediaeval India by the Marathas. Maa Bhadrakali is worshipped by her devotees in order to gain prosperity and wealth. The Bhadrakali Temple in Ahmedabad attracts devotees from all over the country because it is one of the most powerful deities in the Hindu pantheon.

*Goddess is worshipped during the well-known Navaratri Festival, which is also the main festival celebrated here, with nine days of roars, cheers, dances, and colourful attire. This song and dance festival is the best time to visit this temple because you can dance to traditional music, eat hearty food, and have a good time.

*One of India's shakti pithas. The temple is located in the old city of Ahmedabad, near the Bhadra Fort. Ahmedabad residents refer to Nagardevi or as Maa Bhadrakali.

The temple door opens around 6:00 a.m., and the morning aarti begins between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. If you visit Ahmedabad, you should go to the Bhadrakali Mandir Temple. Visit the temple before 8:00 a.m. if possible because the vibes are very energetic and amazing.

*You are not permitted to photograph the goddess.

*Outside the temple, there is an old market known as Bhadra Market. The route to the temple is mostly congested.

Overall, Great Temple, Prosperous! There's way too much traffic out there. The Lal Darwaja AMTS bus station is only a few minutes' walk away. This location is also easily accessible by BRTS buses. I recommend visiting this temple in the early mornings when it is much more peaceful and less crowded.

Regards and...
