One of the very best and tasty food as well as sweets restaurant in Jaipur. A very old famous restaurant in Jaipur Laxmi Misthan Bhandar more popularly known as LMB is in the heart of the royal tourist destination of Jaipur, Johari bazaar. A quick snack area where one can have a bite and move ahead with a standing capacity of about 60 to 70 people. Adjoining that area is the restaurant with a capacity of about 100 dinners. LMB is mostly filled with tourist and accordingly, the prices are set that way. We two went for lunch and decided to go with Rajasthani thalis. So we ordered 2 thalis which have spread out dishes good taste, kair sangari, with famous dal-bati-churma, which was authentic and yummy, kadhi pakora, missi roti along with other sabzis and of course a dessert. The servers were kind enough to acquaint me with every item on the thali. They even insisted on having more and brought much more than I would have asked for. They kept on insisting on having more and were kind to ask now and then as to the taste of the food. These thalis are cooked in pure ghee. Though a lot of calorie-conscious people have curtailed their trips to LMB, there is still a large number who give in to the temptation and enjoy the LMB experience. It is certainly worth a visit as the place needs to be experienced for its unbeatable charm and energy. I was very happy with the hospitality and of course, the food was good too.
LMB is known to serve only vegetarian food. The staff here is courteous and always smiling. They serve you with so much of love and affection plus the taste of the food is so yummy you tend to eat more. So, please judge your appetite and order accordingly. LMB has the best Ghewar in the world! It is a very complicated dessert to make and LMB has the best recipe. It is always made fresh and it has become synonymous with LMB. Over so many years, the quality of this dessert and all the others that LMB offers has been consistently great. Sweets packages from this iconic sweet shop adorn all majority of functions and occasions in and around Jaipur city.
In all, I would say this place is must visit if you are travelling to Jaipur. Just a small suggestion for the owners, you have a fantastic legacy and a great place. Just see that your dining hall has more lights and smells good.

RESTAURANT review(5 stars): Exceeded expectations in terms of food and how polite and hospitable the staff was. The most amazing thing was that the common main course items like Paneer lababdar were cooked uniquely, enhancing their taste and providing the special jaipur/rajasthani touch. Also if you don't eat Onion/Garlic this is a very good option for you since all their items are customisable for no onion/garlic. And the food didn't feel too heavy on the stomach afterwards even though i clearly ate more than my capacity. Some items are priced on the higher side but the taste, quality and portion size balances it. I had paneer lababdar, gatta sabji/curry, mughlai biryani, tandoori roti, chowmein/fried rice fusion(which was delicious as well).
SWEETS shop/part review(2 stars): 2 stars for the taste of bakhlawa only. Otherwise i would give it 1 star since it is the lowest. The staff on this side of the shop is COMPLETELY opposite of the restaurant. Extremely rude, hostile and stingy, including the owner or whoever he is sitting on a high dias. All the items are priced atleast 20% higher than the best shops in Delhi. Apart from that they expect you to buy their goods WITHOUT TASTING. I know very well the taste of cashew (having even stayed in GOA), but if i intend to purchase Masala cashew (which each good shop prepares uniquely) i would want to know the flavour that you are selling. How am i supposed to know the flavour without tasting? And it's not even that i am window shopping, I have already spent Rs 3000 inside your restaurant and spending another Rs 1000 at the sweets part itself. Extremely CHEAP, PATHETIC behaviour for supposedly ages old most famous shop. Learn from other places especially Delhi, i think that's why only delhi is called...
Read moreGo to a thela but not this restaurant I am writing this post on my experience based on my visit on 12th April 24 I and my wife visited the high end restaurant with high hopes which were shattered as soon as we sat for having lunch I am also attaching a photo of the feedback form which I was asked to fill after the incident that happened with us. Firstly, there were no one attending us so we had to wait for 5-10 minutes just for menu and water to be served after that we ordered pachmela saag, missi roti, etc as we wanted to try authentic Rajasthani food, which we were served after a waiting of 10 minutes, the taste and quantity were similar to what of a normal medium to low category restaurants'/dhabas' food. and to my surprise there was a human hair found in the sabji that we ordered, so we called the manager and reported it and I asked for a discount on the total amount of the bill to which he declined my offer and rather counter argued without paying any attention to the issue and just offered to serve me another same sabji. But till then our lunch was almost over and stomach's were full so the new sabji if prepared for us would have been no use to us, so we declined his offer and finished last two morsels and then asked for the bill and also asked the manager to give me a discount on the bill to which he bluntly denied and instead took my debit card tapped on the device and debited the amount. As a customer we felt so insulted that if this kind of service was which were to be expected then what is the difference between eating at a thela and eating in a high end restaurant. not even once they felt sorry for the incident serving guests appropriate food is...
