This temple of Shiva is quite ancient. This temple was built at the time of the establishment of Jaipur in 1784 AD. According to the information, at that time near Rajprasad i.e. City Palace, there used to be a village of Dhundharminaz and there were a lot of palm trees here. Hence the name of the temple here became Tadkeshwar after the name of the palm trees. It is said that a cow used to come here regularly and stand at a particular place. There milk used to come out of his udders automatically. When excavated at that place, Shivling was found. This is the place where the cow used to anoint with milk.
