Visited Tattoo Cafe recently, and while the view of Hawa Mahal from the rooftop is truly stunning and makes for a great photo spot, the overall experience was disappointing.
To start with, the food was just okay—nothing particularly memorable or worth the premium pricing. What stood out most, unfortunately, was the overpricing of basic items. A can of Coke original price 40 was extremely overpriced and they selling it at 100 . which felt very unethical. Such pricing is not only unfair to customers but could also be grounds for a consumer court complaint. Businesses should be transparent and fair with their pricing, especially for standard packaged goods.
What made things worse was the rude behavior of the staff. They seemed disinterested, unwelcoming, and not at all professional. For a place in such a prime tourist location, the staff should be better trained in hospitality and customer service.
Overall, while the view might draw you in, Tattoo Cafe needs serious improvement in pricing ethics and staff behavior to justify a return visit.
Update : thanks for concerning about my education. Yes you were right we get beer nd alcohol more than it’s MRP. But mam/sir that comes under state law Each Indian state has its own Excise Department and rules for alcohol pricing, including where and how it can be sold. • The MRP printed on a beer bottle or can is usually the retail price for sale at liquor shops, not for on-premise consumption (like bars, clubs, or cafes). • Bars and clubs buy alcohol under a license for on-premise sale, and they are allowed to charge more for the service of serving the alcohol And as i remember TATTOO cafe is not bar .
Yes you can overcharge if you do composite service such as serving the coke into a chilled glass of water in a tray not just give bottle as it is .
Packaged drink comes under The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, which prohibit selling items above MRP, do not apply to alcoholic beverages..
And government is already taking tax n all in it. What motive of you have...
Read moreIt was already late afternoon when we visited Hawa Mahal. Even though we had planned to have an early dinner at some place in the locality, we decided to give Tattoo Cafe & Lounge a try as well!
One of our decision factors? It provides a clear view of Hawa Mahal directly from their cafe balcony. And I’m pretty sure that’s the case for all the visitors coming here. So, as mentioned, it’s situated just opposite the architecture and we had to wait at least 30-35min to get a spot. Once we stepped in, the place was packed (as expected).
The ambience is okay and somewhere it was also mentioned that photography isn’t allowed inside. If you are planning to take some pics inside the cafe, here’s a heads-up!
Garlic Noodles: Tasted just like how it should. The garlic flavour in noodles was present and I really appreciated the roasted garlic on top as a garnish. I had ordered with Chilli Paneer (Dry) and it worked well! It could be a great combo with chilli paneer gravy too, for most people.
French Fries: The fries were crispy but it was too salty for my liking. The mayonnaise was just bland and plain, I was hoping it would be something like a ranch dip. But that doesn’t mean it ruined the whole experience whatsoever.
Chilli Paneer (Dry): While the overall taste was good, the thick cornflour coating on the paneer annoyed me the most. It felt like I was eating 2 dishes at the same time! The dry gravy with veggies had a separate taste and as soon as I took a bite of paneer, it didn’t have any flavour. But it was consumable along with the noodles.
Lemon Cooler: Looked similar like a Virgin Mojito but was way too sweet! Lemon wedges and mint leaves just looked like they were only added for garnish, I couldn’t taste anything lemony in this.
All in all, an okayish food experience here. And it’s kind of expected from places like this. People don’t visit here for their food or hospitality, they are here only for one thing - a...
Read moreThe spot made famous due to Instagram, picturesque ambience and amazing location make it a great spot to hangout.
So it takes quite some time to get served, so be ready for a lot of waiting. However on the up side you get the views to enjoy. Either ways, since there's a limited space and everyone wants that picture perfect moment, this waiting time is easy to kill.
Famous so much that you have to take a cover charge to enter the outlet, my first experience of a kind for a cafe. Which you dont need to worry about it as anyway you'll spend more, irrespective of the combination you'll try to make from their menu.
They charge you about 250₹ per person, payable by cash or card or UPI. The other takes 300₹, both facing the iconic Hawamahal.
Coming to the food, we've ordered dimsum, garlic and chilli garlic noodles. They also have italian and american options in their menu with hard and soft drinks too.
Dimsum was fabulously tasty, hands down the best i've had, combining well with the amazing chilli-sesame oil and sauces. Noodles was good, cooked well, balanced in its taste just like the sangria, nothing off could be find in them.
Price wise its good, I was expecting it to be on the higher end, considering the view it gets you, this is just normal. Taste was good, ambience is well, you can sit either ondoor or on the roofside.
Parking is tough, it is near the circle, one has to climb about 30 stairs, all steep hence a big task for old people.
Wheelchair accessibility as you've read and know that its just not available. They also accept cards, no prior reservation can be done on call.
So you can definitely go for some great shots, insta crowd will love it, you will...
