This museum is adjacent to the lighthouse, in fact need to cross the museum to go to the lighthouse.
Entry ticket is Rs.20 for adults and Rs.10 for kids, which includes access to the Lighthouse as well.
Timing is 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm
Once you get the ticket you are on your own to explore the museum and light house and a small park (with benches and statues), couldn’t find any staff in museum as well as the light house entrance.
Museum houses exhibits such as Antique lights, lenses and lamps dating back from 18th century. A giant optic lens used in Minicoy, weighing over 6 tonnes is the highlight. Many ship / vessel models, navigational tools and informative displays illaustrating the history and transformation of lighthouse apparatuses are of educational significance for children.
A mini theatre that can play documentaries about light house and evolution is there for name sake, there’s no staff to operate and guide people around. 🙁
