Read moreI traveled all the way from Chokli to Kannur full of excitement for a pleasant dining experience at Ghazal Restaurant, but what I encountered left me feeling utterly angry and deeply betrayed. From the moment I arrived, I was met with intrusive and overbearing service as a waitress forcefully pushed a ₹3,200 platter on us, leaving no room to explore the menu at our own pace. She made occasional jabs about our budget in an unprofessional and insulting manner, and to add insult to injury she compelled us to vote for the restaurant online before our food even arrived, promising a 5% discount that never materialized. I ended up spending ₹2,500 on food that was a complete letdown. The Al Fahm was a tasteless, lifeless mess that failed to deliver any of the promised spice or flavor, even though the waitress had insisted that the dish was too spicy. The Paal Porotta was another disaster; it was not tasty at all and the porotta served with the Alfahm felt like nothing more than a frozen piece that had been carelessly reheated instead of freshly made. To make matters even more frustrating, we ordered beef paalkappa. We were told that there was no beef paalkappa available and that they would provide chicken instead. However, when the order arrived it turned out to be beef after all, but in a much smaller portion that felt like a mere adjustment rather than a proper serving. The only dish that managed to salvage any semblance of quality was the Palkappa, which was the sole bright spot in an otherwise dismal meal. The entire experience was further ruined by the appalling attitude of the staff. The waitress’s aggressive pushiness left me fuming, and the cashier did not even bother to apologize, giving us a rough, dismissive look and treating us like just another option with absolutely zero regard for customer service. I not only wasted my money but also bore the extra cost of petrol for the long journey, and I left feeling completely devalued and disrespected as a customer. This was not just a bad meal; it was a stark reminder of how some establishments prioritize profit over genuine care and respect for their patrons. Until Ghazal Restaurant completely overhauls its customer service and learns to treat its guests with the decency and respect they deserve, I cannot in good conscience recommend...
Read moreFeeling quite generous hence giving 2 stars. Probably the most underwhelming experience I had off late at a restaurant.
The person who took the order was quite pushy , we ordered a soup at his insistence only to realise someone at the kitchen has quite recklessly put a ton of crushed pepper in it making it clearly inedible. We ordered half alfaham and a prawn Mandhi, clearly enough for 2 people to eat, but the waiter gave the impression that it would be too less and we ended up ordering more. Prawn Mandhi felt like someome had put a bit of cinnamon n cloves extra while making ghee rice and added some shrimps roasted on top. Nothing Mandhi like. Alfaham was decent , quite dry and lacking flavour though. It was surely more in portion than what the waiter had suggested initially. Hence we had ordered some porota and Chicken Kandhari too. (apparently ghazal special) Porotta was flaky and good. Chicken Kandhari was definitely one of the worst things one could do with chicken. Literally plain boiled chicken dunked in green chutney with mustard and all.
And the wosrt part, the waiter trying to interfere with an almost intimidating tone enquiring about why we are not eating the wonderful food that they have served. Since the outside restaurant area has absolutely no privacy with tables right next to each other i stopped myself from venting out my disappointment infront...
